The best area to stay in Morz is the Altstadt (Old Town), which is the historic heart of the city, or the Neustadt (New Town) for a more modern experience.

The Altstadt is the most popular choice for visitors. It's a compact, walkable area located within the bend of the Rhine River, characterised by its narrow, cobbled streets and historic buildings. The main squares, such as the Marktplatz and the Heumarkt, are focal points, surrounded by traditional eateries and shops. The iconic Morz Cathedral, a prominent landmark, is also located here.

For couples, the Altstadt offers a romantic setting with its historic charm and numerous restaurants superb for an evening out. You're within easy reach of the waterfront promenade for strolls along the Rhine, and many of the city's significant sights, like the Roman-Germanic Museum, are just a short walk away.

Alternatively, the Neustadt, just west of the Altstadt, provides a different feel. It's characterised by broader avenues, more contemporary architecture, and a wider selection of shops, particularly along Schildergasse. This area is well-connected by public transport, making it easy to explore further afield.

Solo travellers often appreciate the Neustadt for its convenience and access to a wider range of modern amenities, including department stores and diverse dining options.

The best time to visit Morz is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.

Spring in Morz offers mild temperatures, making it ideal for exploring the town and surrounding nature trails. The gardens and parks, such as those around Morz Castle, begin to bloom, creating a picturesque setting for strolls. This period is particularly good for couples looking for a relaxed trip with opportunities for outdoor activities like cycling along the Rhine.

Autumn also provides comfortable weather, with cooler temperatures superb for hiking in the nearby vineyards or enjoying boat trips on the Rhine River. The region's wine harvest often takes place during this time, and many local festivals pop up.
