Minard Vacation Packages

The building was once a school so quite unique as a hotel. The room and bathroom were quite small but comfortable. The restaurant and bar were a different company so it was not possible to charge anything to our room. Breakfast was a ‘farmhouse table’ of homemade sourdough bread, cheese, charcuterie, smoked salmon, Spanish omelette and granola. I enjoyed; my husband emphatically did not. If you look forward to a traditional cooked breakfast, this one is not for you

We booked two nights and walked away from the second night, the cost of that second night and paid for a room at a different hotel for that second night. It was that bad! A horrible way to end our trip to Scotland. This hotel was supposed to be a 5 star splurge for us before leaving for home. Description of the room did not match any reasonable expectations of a 5 star hotel. The room was uncomfortably small (width of a bed and maybe twice as long with no place for our carry on luggage). There was no place to set any amenities in the bathroom. There was no place to sit except one stool. Otherwise while in the room we were shoulder to shoulder. The room was also uncomfortably hot. Also note that because we booked using a third party we did not receive the usual welcome or evening services.

This was precisely the quiet, comfortable, mildly quirky retreat I needed. Superbly located a short walk from the gallery on a quiet, residential street. The breakfast was wonderful - continental, but with an excellent selection of cold cuts, breads and fresh fruit, so significantly superior to over-heated hot buffet breakfasts in soany of the big chains. Travel travails meant I was late for the usual check in window, but they very helpfully provided the code, etc so it was a smooth process for self check-in. Nice touches in the room, including a record player, nespresso machine and pleasant furnishings. WiFi worked well for work. Plenty of sensibly placed plugs and charging points.

Fabulous stay. Staff were very helpful. Asked for a couple things to the room and were brought up within 10mins. Spa is a fantastic bonus and plenty space for the amount of people using without feeling you were ontop of each other. We have stayed multiple times at this hotel and it never fails to meet every expectation
