This idyllic, amenity-packed condo complex is surrounded by water, and our newly renovated, luxury-styled unit, Gulfsidehaven, has expansive, spectacular views, a welcome, prevailing breeze, and ample privacy thanks to its waterfront, corner location. With the Keys famous for its fishing and diving, Gulfpointe 2 has a well-equipped, private dock with 8 slips and convenient, direct access to the Atlantic via Vaca Cut. How great is this condo? Well, we vacationed here ourselves and loved it so much, we bought it! Free WiFi 2 Levels 2 Free, covered parking spots 2 Gulf-view balconies 3 Flat-screens (one in each bedroom + living area) AND ONE AMAZING VIEW Many of our guests comment on the view from our rental—which, as a corner unit, really does have some of the best seats in the house. Spend your afternoon watching the serene show from the third floor, wraparound balcony that suspends you over amazing Gulf views—a typical scene includes boating activity, small planes, egrets, pelicans and, occasionally, manatees. Stick around for sunset, pour your favorite drink, and settle into your front-row spot for a memorable show. Inside the recently remodeled condo, find new wood plank tile floors, new quartz countertops, new appliances in the well-stocked kitchen and new bathrooms. ABOUT THE COMPLEX Gulfpointe 2 is known for its amenities and, particularly for its private boat dock with 8 slips (first-come, first served). You'll even find excellent fishing right off the dock. There's also a bait freezer, gear locker and a fish cleaning station available to guests. Grill your fresh catch on the gas grill on the lower balcony and dig in at the outdoor dining table, which has waterfront views and ambiance to beat any restaurant. The complex also features a pool, which is steps away from the unit and heated in the winter months. You're just minutes from Route 1, but still very much a world away from the bustle. THE LOCATION Many fly south (about as "south" as you can get in the U.S.!) for the Keys' world-famous fishing, diving and boating. The Keys phenomenal fishing offerings include offshore, reef/wreck & backcountry. For snorkelers and scuba divers, start on the barrier reef with Looe Key or Sombrero Reef; there are also great snorkeling spots right off the beaches in Marathon and nearby Bahia Honda. For more of a "sun worshipper" vacation, superb beaches nearby include Sombrero Beach and Coco Plum in Marathon and Calusa, Loggerhead, and mile long Sandspur beaches at Bahia Honda. Cross iconic Seven Mile Bridge on your way to Bahia Honda or Key West for sightseeing, shopping, dining, nightlife and more. This trip was booked last minute as our family vacation, and we arrived with no prior knowledge of the Keys. Our week far exceeded anything we could have ever expected. The property is amazing, and we felt like we were at home from the moment we arrived. Heidi and Mike were always available for questions about the area and went out of their way to make us feel welcome in their home. The condo itself is immaculate, and the pictures could not be more accurate. The accommodations are simply beautiful. We enjoyed fishing, the beach, and most of the keys south of Marathon. We took two easy trips to Key West as well. The area has everything you could possibly need, but you could also just stay on the property and enjoy the little slice of paradise it offers. The unit was very nice with absolutely amazing views! Went on two charters while there and caught our share of fish. The kitchen was great and we used it for lots of meals. Lots of staple items needed for basic cooking which was so nice. My so and I brought our own reels and used the fishing rods to fish the docks. We were there every night! It was a great middle location for us to have quick trips up and down the Keys throughout the week. We were able to see sea turtles, two manatees, lots of fish, a wide variety of natural birds and a couple shark from the unit and doc. Unit was better than expected, and so much wildlife observable from the unit. The owner's were great at communicating, and left lots of recommendations. We’ve stayed at many VRBO properties. This is among the very best of them. Everything was as described, actually even better. Super comfortable and quiet. Every convenience of home waiting for us ready to go. The views are amazing! Fished off the dock and caught Mangrove Snapper and Grunt. Condo is close to local restaurants. This was a wonderful place for our family to stay on our first Keys vacation. The view from the porches was amazing. We enjoyed the beautiful sunset every evening. The local host and the owner were very resposive to any issue and recommended lots of places to eat and visit. The local residents were very friendly and helpful. We frequented the dock every evening to fish. We caught many species of fish and was able to keep 3 snapper for supper one night. They were delicious! The condon was very clean and well supplied. The beach towels, chairs, pool toys and fishing gear was a very nice addition. The pool was a nice size and very convenient. The week went quicker than we wanted! The attention to detail was second to none. Including the little things like night lights that came on automatically, the extra outlets throughout house, and the USB ports in bedrooms didn’t go unnoticed. We were a family of 4 with 2 teenage boys. We enjoyed fishing on the docks and caught lots of fish (and released). Kitchen was wonderfully stocked with all those unthinkable things like spices, cooking spray, etc. The start up kit was very helpful. Also, the host gave us some very helpful tips for our trip in, like to secure provisions in Florida City before heading down to the islands, where prices increase. They also labeled everything around the condo for ease of use. The pool was wonderful. Everyone we met in the community was a pleasure and several offered restaurant suggestions or tips for the boys on fishing. We would absolutely recommend staying at this property. Hopefully we will be able to come back again soon! It truly felt like home away from home. Thank you to The Schlueter's for having us! ##### Angela K.
