However, the bedroom was on the lower ground floor (almost like in the basement), and so the bedroom in particular had a dank and musty odour.. It was akin to the smell of rising damp that on typically gets in England. The staff were very helpful. And they managed to get me in my room early after coming in on an early morning flight from the states. They even called me to let me know when it was ready. There was a little issue with the heat, but they were quick to remedy it. The only negative at all is that the atmosphere is a little cold. We packed light and planned to use the in room washer/dryer - but the dryer did not work well and it took over 2 hours to dry a small load. Additionally, the fan in the bathroom did not work and if we opened the door to let the steam out it set off some kind of alarm resulting in a phone call or knock on the door from hotel staff. Finally, there was LOUD noise (yelling, banging, stomping, music blasting, etc.) most nights until 1:00am or 2:00am. Not really sure but it seemed to come from other hotel guests either above us or in the courtyard below. The coffee pods were limited for a couple that need at least 2 cups of coffee to start the day but the hotel staff were generous providing more when asked. Housekeeping was 3 times a week but they refreshed the towels daily. The location of the hotel was perfect between 2 tubs stations.
