The best area to stay in Les Serres is within the historic village itself, particularly around the Place du Marché.This central area is the heart of Les Serres, characterised by its narrow, winding streets and stone buildings. You'll find many of the village's best restaurants, artisanal shops, and local bakeries clustered around the main square. It's very walkable, allowing you to easily explore the local life and enjoy the village's relaxed pace.Couples often find the historic village ideal due to its romantic setting and easy access to excellent dining experiences. Strolling hand-in-hand through the ancient streets, discovering hidden courtyards, and enjoying an evening meal at a pavement bistro create a memorable experience. The proximity to local wine bars also adds to the appeal. For those seeking a more secluded and tranquil experience, the immediate outskirts of the village offer charming villas and guesthouses. These properties often provide more space, private gardens, and stunning views of the surrounding countryside, while still being just a short walk or drive from the village centre.

The best time to go to Les Serres is during late spring (May to June) or early autumn (September to October). These periods offer pleasant weather, ideal for exploring the region without the intense heat of mid-summer or the cooler temperatures and occasional rain of winter. You'll find the lavender fields, a major draw for visitors, in full bloom from mid-June to mid-July, creating stunning landscapes. The grape harvest, or vendange, typically begins in late August and continues through September, offering a different but equally engaging experience for those interested in local wines. For couples seeking a relaxing escape, late spring provides beautiful scenery with fewer crowds than the peak summer months. You can enjoy leisurely strolls through the villages and vineyards, dine al fresco, and visit local markets at a comfortable pace. The mild temperatures are superb for cycling or hiking along the Luberon trails.Families travelling with children might find early autumn particularly enjoyable. The weather is still warm enough for outdoor activities, but the summer rush has subsided, making attractions and restaurants more accessible.
