Top Port Grimaud Hotel Reviews

Hotel Ventura Saint-Tropez, Tapestry Collection By Hilton

10/10 Excellent

"The property was excellent, great location, great service and beautiful brand new rooms. I think the previous reviews does not do this property. Any justice definitely will come back."

La Bastide D'Antoine

10/10 Excellent

"We really enjoyed our stay here! The hotel is beautiful, the pool area is amazing, and everything was super clean. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful throughout our stay. A big plus for us was the free parking and the €25 per night dog fee, which we found very reasonable. The only downside was the room we booked. It was quite small and didn’t have a proper wardrobe, so it was difficult to keep everything tidy, especially with our travel bags and belongings. A little more storage space would have made a big difference. The location is around a 30-minute walk to Saint-Tropez, which was fine for us, but there isn’t much to do immediately around the hotel if you don’t have a car. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would definitely come back!"

Hôtel Le Domaine de l'Astragale, Saint-Tropez

8/10 Good

"Property is 1.5 km from town center - you can walk if you chose to (however there are small sections without walkway). But they have a shuttle that takes you to downtown. Hotel was very clean, the welcome was amazing, the room was very comfortable and breakfast included was adequate. They had free water, free snacks and the best part is the shuttle drivers - they are all young people who work there during the season traveling from different parts of Europe - amazing to have everyone speak fairly good English. The conceirge also booked all the beach clubs - it is impossible to get bookings at beach clubs unless you go through your hotel. They communicate with you on WhatsApp. Only reason I gave 4 stars was the cost was a bit high for the comforts and time of the year - we stayed in the last week before the hotel hibernates (shuts down) for 6 months - so it is not in season and the cost was still very high - I cannot imagine how expensive it will be during on-season."

Mercure Thalasso and Spa Port Frejus

8/10 Good

"The room was clean but needs renovation. Wardrobe handles and lamps are broken. Great to have a swimming pool but some of its rules are incomprehensible e.g., why men can only use speedo and not shorts? If it is for hygiene why swimming caps are not compulsory? Also, I would expect the hotel to provide beach umbrella for the shade, while apparently you have to bring your own for the pool. But who does that?"

Saint-Tropez, just a short drive from Port Grimaud, is renowned for its glamorous atmosphere and beautiful beaches. The town centre is focused around the Vieux Port, where luxury yachts are moored, and the Place des Lices, famous for its boules games and market. When is the best time to go to Port Grimaud?

The best time to go to Port Grimaud is during the shoulder seasons, specifically May, June, and September, to enjoy pleasant weather and fewer crowds.

These months offer warm, sunny days without the intense heat and significant tourist numbers of July and August. You'll find it easier to book quality accommodation and secure reservations at popular restaurants. The sea is warm enough for swimming from late May onwards, and the surrounding countryside is at its most beautiful.

Couples looking for a relaxing getaway will particularly appreciate May and September. These months provide a more tranquil experience, great for strolls along the canals, enjoying waterfront dining, and exploring the Gulf of Saint-Tropez at a leisurely pace. You can easily find spots on the beaches of Port Grimaud and nearby Port Cogolin without feeling overwhelmed.

For families, June is an excellent choice. The weather is consistently warm, all attractions and facilities are fully open, and while it's getting busier, it's not yet at the peak summer rush.
