The Uplands Serviced Apartments

10/10 Excellent

"We were staying with family and booked 2 x upstairs apartments, which were conveniently across the small landing from each other. They were exceptionally spacious and clean, with everything that was needed for a short break. There was an ironing board/iron, safe, hairdryer, tissues, and even a trouser press in the bedroom! The bed was massive and very comfortable. A nice welcome pack included 2 small packs of corn flakes, milk, tea, coffee, sugar and bottled water. There was washing up liquid, with sponge and dishcloth, and spare bin bags at the bottom of each bin. Hand soap and hair/bodywash in the bathroom. The rooms were lovely and warm despite awful weather outside. Parking available right outside the rooms. We had a wee courtesy knock every day from the staff to see if we needed any clean towels, or other provisions, which was unexpected but welcome. The location was in a quiet area of the town but only a few minutes walk from a Morrison's Daily supermarket for any basics you need. We had a car so getting around wasn't a problem, but it is a fairly steep hill to get there if that would bother you. There are bus stops nearby though if needed. I would highly recommend the apartments to anyone looking for a home from home with everything needed for a self catering holiday, rather than a basic hotel room."

"The hotel is fabulous, though the degree to which it excels will (obviously) depend on the room type. We booked a double which was in the older part of the hotel, facing the internal courtyard. Not an issue, however, the floor seemed to incline towards the window and the bathroom meant there was only room for one. The roof terrace on the fourth floor is definitely worth a visit if you are not lucky enough to have a room with a view. However, the staff excelled from the front desk to restaurant staff. One in particular deserves mention - Eric. He was extremely polite, attentive and professional during all the breakfasts we had. A definite GoTo for our return."

"This is a great, family-run hotel on the outskirts of St Helier. Rooms are a good size, nicely decorated and furnished, spotless. The owners are delightful, seeming to do much of the work themselves but always with time to talk or help. Breakfasts are excellent, varied and generous. It's an easy walk into town with its good choice of quality restaurants. We were very pleased to have chosen the Almorah!"

"We had a family get together in Sheryl’s lovely townhouse . The house was spotlessly clean, very well equipped and wanted for nothing. Beach towels, hampers, umbrellas, many food and drink goodies.. quite amazing. It was in a quiet location, yet only minutes from the town centre. We had three cars, two of which were small, and were able to park on the drive. Sheryl was the perfect host, communication was excellent. We particularly enjoyed sitting in the conservatory with a drink, or playing one of the many games supplied. I would definitely recommend Sheryl's house"
