Equipped with modern amenities including NETFLIX, free WiFi, and air conditioning, yet maintaining traditional touches like a Japanese cedar bath tub, the property has been renovated to the highest standards by award winning architects. Completely restored and renovated to the highest standards by award winning architects, TAKEYA Nishijin Honkan is the ideal place to start your Kyoto adventure. Featuring the perfect blend of traditional charm and modern amenities, you can experience the atmosphere of a traditional Kyoto machiya and yet enjoy modern amenities such as Netflix and WiFi. With 2 western bedrooms and a Japanese-style tatami room, this spacious house can sleep up to 6 people in comfort. Featuring 2 full bathrooms, the house is well equipped by Japanese standards. The entire house is available for the use of guests. Before you arrive, I will send a detailed map with descriptions by email. Located in Nishijin, the traditional weaving district of Kyoto, TAKEYA Nishijin Bekkan is within easy access of multiple tourist sites. Kamishichiken, the oldest Geisha district in Kyoto, is just 5 minutes walk away. You may even get the chance to see a real Geisha here! Every 25th of the month, a flea market is held at Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, which is just 7 minutes walk away. Ninnaji Temple and Hirano Shrine are easily accessible by bus, both of which are famed for their late-blooming cherry trees, so you can catch the sakura even if you arrive after the peak cherry blossom season. The property is located very near the main Senbon Imadegawa interchange. From here, bus access to almost anywhere in Kyoto is possible. For larger groups, you may also book TAKEYA Nishijin Bekkan and TAKEYA Nishijin Hanare, which are located right next door.
