Our spacious condominium is ideal for families and couples, and it offers gorgeous ocean and sunset views. We have recently refurbished and redecorated the unit, adding to the overall comfort and experience for our guests. Highlights of this condo include: \-Major redecoration includes new cabinetry and countertops in kitchen and bathrooms, new flooring in the common spaces, fold-down (Murphy) bed in den, and new paint (new video is in VRBO review queue; more pictures to come!). \-Quiet and large (1,500+ square feet) top-floor unit overlooking Hapuna Golf Course with immaculate ocean and sunset views from throughout the space \-Two (2) bedrooms, two (2) bathrooms, and a den with fold-down bed to accommodate up to five (5) guests \-400+ square foot wraparound outdoor lanai, covered and furnished with lounge chairs and dining table and chairs. The lanai furniture has been updated as of January 2025\. \-Primary bedroom with walk-in closet, en suite shower and tub. \-A full array of cookware and dishware including: new pots and pans, waffle maker, rice cookers, Fruit Ninja blender, Cuisinart coffee maker, coffee grinder, Bodum pour over, and many other items. \-Washer and dryer. \-Casually elegant Tommy Bahama furniture. All guests can enjoy the wonderful public areas of both the Mauna Kea and Hapuna hotels and their beaches. In addition, resort privileges are available which means that guests at our condo can enjoy all of the wonders of both of these five-star resorts (more details on the resort costs and amenities can be found below under 'Other Amenities'). The Mauna Kea and the Hapuna hotels feature: \-Two legendary beaches \-Two championship golf courses \-Swimming pools overlooking the beaches - new pools at Hapuna - check out their website \-World renown oceanside tennis facility (including pickleball) at Mauna Kea \-A fantastic range of dining opportunities from casual to fine \-Large and modern fitness centers\*, and \-Spa and salon\*. \*New spa and fitness center at Hapuna. The new Mauna Kea fitness center and adult pool is open with new spa facilities under construction. With resort access, guests can enjoy full privileges at both Mauna Kea and Hapuna hotels as if they are hotel guests. Privileges include: \-free reserved parking at the hotels \-beach services including chairs and towels \-golf at hotel guest rate \-tennis at hotel guest rate \-resort signing privileges \-fitness center The rate for Beach Club privileges is set for 2026 at $150 per day up to 30 days with discounts potentially available for stays beyond 30 days, with exceptions for peak periods. Please note that this fee is in addition to rental fees, and guests contract directly with the hotels for this service. The daily rate is set by the hotel who has set the rate for $150 per day in 2026 except for peak periods (March 21-April 11; November 21-27; and December 19-31) when the rate will be $225 per day. Relax, kick back in comfort, and choose your pleasure! MAUNA KEA RENOVATION: In mid-April 2024, Mauna Kea commenced a $180 million renovation of the property. As of 10/15/2025, the status is as follows from hotel management: \-There is currently no impact to outdoor facilities such as beach and tennis. \-There is currently no impact to dining facilities. \-The Mauna Kea hotel's remodeled beach tower and remodeled pool and hot tub area have reopened! \-The new, bigger and better Hau Tree kitchen is slated for reopening November 3, 2025. \-Construction of a new spa, fitness center and adult pool area behind the Buddha statue and north of Manta restaurant are in process. The spa is not forecasted to be ready spring 2026\. The existing spa and fitness center remain open. \-Mauna Kea Golf Course has reopened with fairways fully replanted, greens fully replanted, green complexes and bunkers reconstructed, and removal of approximately 25 bunkers throughout the course. The layout of the course has not changed. \-Hapuna Golf Course is currently closed. The fairways were replanted with paspalum (same as Mauna Kea) starting in spring 2025\. The course is expected to reopen in November 2025. We will provide further updates as they become available. COVID Updates: Please see the State of Hawaii's Travel requirements. Kumulani has an amazing location, including sweeping views of the ocean and Maui, a pool in the property grounds and a very short drive to the beach, and beautiful walks anytime of day. Some say Mauna Kea is the best beach in Hawaii - maybe the world! The stay was amazing, and having access to the Mauna Kea beach club was so fun! All the activities are included with the beach club fee, so all of us were able to snorkel, paddle board, kayak and more! It was fantastic to have access to the 6 restaurants at the two connected hotels, and the new wellness center at the Hapuna was amazing! The condo was fantastic and had everything we needed. It is on the top (2nd) floor so it has great ocean and golf course views. The home was very cozy and had everything you need. We cooked a few nights and there is a grill and great deck. The hosts clearly have pride of ownership and strive to provide a memorable experience for their guests. First, there is an absolutely beautiful ocean view. So nice to enjoy it on the patio with a glass of wine. The home is very nicely decorated, with high quality mattresses. The kitchen was quite well stocked with an abundance of cutlery, dishware, pans, glassware. There was even a waffle iron! The furniture inside and outside was very comfortable, and the air conditioning worked like a dream. We elected to purchase the Mauna Kea guest membership and used it at the Westin almost every day. The price is high compared to other locations but less expensive than the hotel. Must have a car, it is over 1 mile drive to the beach. The ocean views from this 2nd floor condo are excellent, beautiful sunsets. It is on a golf course, so expect some noise from the landscape maintenance. Inside the unit not so good. Aged furniture. Cheap mattress. Very short beds in the second bedroom. Our friends are 5'3"-5'6", if you are tall expect your feet to go over the edge. Several things that need repairs that were not done before our check in: kitchen window screen bended, chips in the kitchen pocelain floor, scratches on the kitchen sink. Cleanliness- kitchen countertop tiles grout need deeper cleaning, balcony floor had some marks, balcony ceiling fans were not wiped probably ever. The views overlooking the golf course and the ocean made for enjoyable cups of coffee and sunset cocktails! It was clean, the kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. We chose to stay in this area because of the resort access pass that we could purchase for Mauna Kea and The Westin Hapuna Beach Resort. It was great being so close to these beaches!The condo was spacious and clean. Beds were comfortable. The property manager checked in with us during our stay and was very responsive.
