Beautiful third floor unit with 2 double beds. Lovely resort with amazing pools! To the east is a green field and to the west is the resort's back parking area. The Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort and Spa is a beautiful Hawaiian resort located on 25 acres of lush Garden Isle, centrally located between Kauai’s south and north shores, making it perfect for your island adventures. Only minutes from the airport, Costco, Walmart and Shopping. You will go thru a tree canopy lined drive that leads to the resort. Several acres of beach front property to enjoy and explore. On property there are four swimming pools, complete with water falls, a poolside cabana bar and grill, two jacuzzies, fitness center and day spa. Paradise will be your back yard! KAUAI RESORT AMENITIES • 4 swimming pools, including 2 lagoon pools, 75-ft lava tube slide, & kid-friendly sand bottom pool. • Two whirlpool spas, one amidst a stone grotto and surrounded by lush ferns and an exotic waterfall. • Two restaurants on site. • Poolside Driftwood Bar and Grill • Free Wi-Fi access in lobby, restaurants, and the pool areas. • Hawaiian Rainforest Boutique Spa offering sauna, spa treatments, massages ect. • Concierge and activities/tour desk. • Hertz car rental agency on-site.. • ATM, ice machines, purified water machines and vending machines. • Fitness room • Business center with computer. • Fridge for your food, soda, wine, etc. • In room, blow dryer, ironing board. • There is a coffee maker in the room. CHECK-IN / CHECK-OUT POLICY • Check-in time is 4:00 PM / Check-out time is 11:00 AM. Check in procedure: Simply check in at the front desk with your name and booking info. HOUSEKEEPING SERVICES • Please note that daily maid service is not included when renting direct through VRBO. The cleaning fee included in your payment to VRBO covers cleaning/re-stocking the room after your stay. If you would like a mid-stay cleaning (maid service) for your room it is $65 each cleaning. Towel exchange is $25. As Private Unit guest you have full access to the pools, whirlpool spas, the grounds, the beach, the business center, the restaurants, the lounge, the poolside bar, live music, the fitness room, coin laundry access and the Hawaiian Rainforest Spa. By renting via VRBO you avoid paying the $35 per day resort fee charged by the Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort. However, the Hawaiian Cultural classes, which include classes like Hula and Lei Making are not included as part of your stay. \----------------------------------------------------------------- FAQs - FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS IS THIS CONDO OR A HOTEL ROOM? Both. The resort was previously a Hilton hotel, the units are just like hotel rooms. However, they are privately owned “condotels”. The resort operates much like a hotel, and most guests are not aware that the units are privately owned. Most of the units are offered to the public through the resort or through travel sites at much higher retail prices. Although, a few are offered on VRBO at owner rates with access to the resort’s amenities. WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN RENTING ON VRBO vs. THE RESORT The $$$ price and also maid service. Renting direct through VRBO saves you a lot of money. However, daily maid service is not included. The cleaning fee you pay when booking takes care of cleaning and restocking the unit after your stay. DOES THE UNIT HAVE A KITCHEN? No. They do not have kitchens they were previously hotel rooms. ARE WE ABLE TO COOK IN THE UNIT? No. Local fire ordinances do not allow cooking in any of the rooms. The resort has a microwave in the lounge area on the 5th floor of Building 2 that can be used by all guests. WHAT IS THE RESORT’S BEACH LIKE? The resort is located on a 3-mile stretch of beautiful beach, amazing for long walks. The beach is very scenic but, is not considered a swimmable beach as it has a decent amount of coral. The surf is also unpredictable. It's best is to go to some of Kauai's many famous beaches for swimming. Lydgate Beach park is a nearby beach that is good for swimming. SHOULD I GET A CAR? We recommend that you have a rental car. The resort has most everything you need to have a wonderful time and relax. A car will allow you to experience many popular attractions, buying groceries, and going to many amazing restaurants etc. If you want a car for a day or two there is an on-site Hertz car rental agency. The rates are higher but it is an option for a short rental. IS THERE FREE SHUTTLE SERVICE FROM THE AIRPORT? No. The shuttle service from the airport is not available to our guests. The resort does offer free shuttle service to/from the airport for guests who book through the resort. Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort is close the airport which makes taxi prices more reasonable. Uber also operates on the island! ARE THERE BEACH TOWELS TO TAKE TO THE BEACH? Your stay includes 4 pool/beach towels. DOES THE RESORT CHARGE A RESORT FEE? Private owner guests are not required to pay the $35 daily resort fee. DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR A DAILY PARKING FEE? Yes, if you have a car the resort charges $40/day for parking. The pool was wonderful, my family really enjoyed themselves here. The communication with the property manager was great - my daughter unfortunately left behind a couple items and the property manager was amazing to work with and helped us in no time be able to get her items back. Truly exceptional customer service and so greatly appreciated. The hotel was terrific, and our children had a great time. Everything about our stay met or exceeded expectations, except 3 things. I messaged our host to inquire about early check-in since we had arrived early, although it was not expected (because the host clearly stated that check-in time was 3-4pm). Our host replied about 3 HOURS LATER, allowing us to check in early ...at 4:30pm, 30 MINUTES AFTER the regular check-in time. Imagine if I needed to contact the host for an emergency! A simple no to early check-in would have been fine. Also, everyday during our stay, construction was being done on the unit above us. Every morning at 6am, I would hear someone rolling equipment accross a tile floor. Work would often begin a little after 7am every morning, waking myself and my family. This was not a pleasant experience to say the least. Our dog has cancer, and I inquired with our host about checking out early because we were notified that he took a turn for the worse during our stay. Again while we had no expectations, we received a prompt but rather cold, matter-of-fact response from the host. Overall we had a great time, however the host did not leave us feeling like a valued nor respected customer. The entire island of Kauai is beautiful! ##### Trenton Y. Crystal communicated well with us and responded to any questions. The pools and hot tubs were very nice, as well as location to beach. Slide and kids area shallow sandy pool. The accommodation at Outrigger Kauai Beach Resort was great. Our kids loved the water slide, the spa was also lovely, and breakfast at Napuka was delicious. The resort overall including the pool area can definitely use some updating though, but it seems like a lot of renovation is already in progress. It was a good central location between since it’s located between Hanalei and poipiu beaches (the beach at this resort is not safe for swimming). Kids loved the pools and waterslide! The room was clean, large hotel fridge, partial view of the ocean, helpful check-in staff and close proximity to airport. We rented a car and easily got around the island from the hotel. Crystal with reservations was also wonderful and very responsive. We would definitely stay here again. ##### Molly H. Our VRBO room was great. Our only complaint is that there was not a comfortable sitting chair in the room. The two cast-off office chairs in the room were ugly and not comfortable! We've stayed at this resort a couple of times before but this was the first time not booking through the resort directly. There wasn't much of a difference as we still had access to everything we were interested in, which for my daughter were the pools and water slide. We walked the resort property and the beach, had dinner and drinks at the restaurant and lounge, and enjoyed the convenient location of this resort making it easy to get north or south. Everything in the room was clean and we had everything we needed. Although you can see the ocean, the view from the balcony overlooking the parking and work area isn't the greatest and it got a little loud the first night with laundry carts rolling past below, but the sound machine took care of that and we had plenty of other ways to enjoy the property. The beds are doubles, which we were aware of and found them comfortable, but might make it tight unless your kids are smaller.
