Appartments are a bit away from the sea side, not so much the distance, but quite steep climb. But they do have a nice swimming pool.

The Continental is an old hotel very well located in Rijeka. It was clean but dated and in need of a refresh. Parking is tough and I wish I had prepared ahead of time for the situation. The breakfast was good, the restaurant seemed updated and the restaurant staff were very nice and professional. If you want a reasonably priced hotel near the Corso then consider the Continental but be ready with parking expectations before arrival.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed in a Comfort Room, which is in an annex outside of the main hotel. The room was comfortable and clean but the style of that part of the hotel felt dated. We stayed on half board basis; there was a reasonable choice and the food was fine, but due to the popularity of the hotel it felt more like a canteen environment as opposed to a restaurant at the evening meal.

Excellent, first class service from our morning waitress Cresily who looked after us exceptionally well. Room was generally good but area around the outside doors to balcony was poorly maintained with big cracks around the frame. Curtains could not be drawn fully leaving a large gap at the top. Air conditioning was not working in the room when we arrived Tuesday evening and after raising this with a member of the reception staff the following morning, it was discovered there was a general fault in the hotel and a firm had to be contacted to fix it - which they did on Friday. It meant the first 3 nights were quite uncomfortable for us as it was quite hot in the room. Despite the hotel advert stated "Soak up the sunrays by the outdoor pool with sea water" when we booked the holiday, the pool was CLOSED which was a very big disappointment for us. Two separate events at the hotel meant the outside facilities were curtailed for most of Friday and the following day an afternoon and evening event lead to noise in our corridor which was not caused by hotel residents.
