"My only suggestion would be to not allow pets in the breakfast area during breakfast hours. I know it is attached to the lobby, but we witnessed a larger dog with his owner sniffing the buffet area, and it worried us about the cleanliness a little."

"I never write reviews but my experience was amazing and deserves to be talked about. I picked this hotel because it was close to the Event Center for a full weekend convention we were attending. It ended up being right across the street, SO convenient! We arrived around 1ish, I went into the hotel to see if we could park there early and then come back over to check in after 3 and the wonderful lady at the desk let us check in early! It was such a nice surprise to not have to leave our bags in the car and to be able to run up to our room and freshen up after driving and everything. Our room was nice and clean. Fridge was cold, microwave worked, AC stayed on all night. The view of the water/city is also really pretty at night. Our floor also was relatively quiet at night which was also a plus. Breakfast was decent, typical hotel breakfast. Well stocked for how busy it was, no complaints. Check out was seamless and when we checked out, they let us keep our car parked there until the afternoon so we could attend the final day of our convention without paying parking somewhere else. So that also was an amazing perk. We will most definetly stay again next year!!"

Stoney Creek Hotel Des Moines - Johnston

"We came for a girls trip to spend time in the pool and relax at “the cottages” at Stoney creek. When we arrived we were told the pool and hot tub are closed for renovation, the reservation can not be changed because it it’s to close to the check-in time so we would be fully charged. The room we booked was to have a balcony or patio, it did not. We did not stay. Returned keys and left. Very disappointing."
