Gateway Vacation Packages

We haven’t stayed at the lodge in a long time… here are my observations… Pros: The exterior grounds are beautifully maintained. Our room appeared to have new flooring and fresh paint Comfortable beds Clean Friendly staff Cons: The microwave didn’t work The hairdryer didn’t work ( maintenance did replace both in a timely manner) The rooms need some attention… tv is about the size of a large computer screen ( very small), no artwork or character, the headboards were scratched up, the vent for the heat/ac was full of dust, lint, paint chips… Also… old place so you can hear all your neighbors …noisy ( and smell their marijuana vapes on the balcony, ugh) I like Eagle Crest Resort but prefer to rent the condos, probably won’t stay at the lodge again.

The property was great, staff was very friendly and helpful, and the food at Fire Mountain was delish!!

The location was great. The unit is older and you can smell the carpets. Also, the floors looked like they were no swept and the carpets looked like they were only vacuumed in some areas. The entry and the stairs up and down looked very dirty.

Everything was great! The only negative was the phone in the room didn’t work and the sliding screen door needs to be fixed or replaced.

Overall, I thought the property was beautiful and well kept. Our room was clean although our refrigerator had some issues and was pretty beat up and old and had rust in it. The barbecue was not clean. And I feel for the price point that you could probably use a refresh in the rooms… Getting a little outdated the pool area was nice and well kept the lobby and staff were exceptional. The spa was not worth the price. It is not a spa experience and the massages were average at best. In hindsight, I should have looked at reviews before booking the spa treatments. I would definitely make sure you stopped at a store before staying in a villa if you plan on eating in at all because the store on site is very small. I would consider it more of a small gift shop with a cooler full of a few choices for drinks and food. I loved that they were dog friendly, and the grounds were beautiful and very well kept. Our server at the family pool were great and they were a little understaffed and they remained calm through it all. I would definitely stay here again, but I would probably shop for a deal on price.
