Both the staff and resort were wonderful. Very clean place. Staff at the hotel, restaurants and pool were all very sweet and helpful. Would highly recommend this resort for families as the units are spacious, have full kitchens, and an outdoor screened in porch. The only negative was that the beach chairs are not included in the stay. You would need to rent them daily or by the week or get your own beach chairs and umbrellas from a local shop and bring them to the beach. It would have been better if the pool was open. The pool was closed so you had to get your towels near the pool and go to a resort next door to go in a pool. I decided just to jump in the gulf. Our air conditioner went out but it was fixed quickly after telling the front desk. Our room did not get cleaned one day and they told me when I checked out that sometimes that happens during COVID (but everyone else's room was cleaned). The following are reasons why we would not go back. 1) Beach towels not available. It’s a first come basis and overall capacity seemed low. 2) After a heavy pour, one of the windows had a leak and we could hear the drip within our room. 3) 2 cockroaches spotted and taken out in our bathroom. I noted this to the cleaning personal the next morning. 4) Furniture was old and overall room looked like it was from the 80s. 5) Early AM coffee urge thwarted with non functional coffee machine. 6) Nonresponsive front desk as I tried to report some issues. If we ate there that would pay for our food, we would get it back if we didn’t eat at their restaurant But when we checked out the lady told us it’s insurance on the room and we wouldn’t get it back. I suggest they get their employees to know what is going on. Plus the desk people were very very rude, they were not helpful at all. For example our key didn’t work on the second day. However, we had a family emergency that prevented us from staying the first of 2 nights. I understood it to be non refundable for the first night, but when we asked for a late check out (2 or 3pm) it took 3 different phone calls with no empathy and lots of pushback. The resort was not sold out and making a small exception for a family that had to take a 3 month old infant to an emergency room earlier in the week seems like the right thing to do. Ultimately, a checkout at 2 was allowed, but housekeeping came to the door every 45 mins starting before to 9am the day of checkout to try to clean.
