McKenzie Bridge River's Edge Retreat, a cozy cabin on over two acres

10/10 Excellent
"This home is so peaceful and its location, beautiful. Not a neighbor in sight! It was a thrill to see and hear the rushing river in the middle of summer and so much greenery out every window! My husband and I will definitely be back! We found everything we needed for our stay in the well-stocked kitchen, bathroom, and laundry room. We sat on the large deck to bird watch and wave at the passing rafters. My husband and I will definitely be back!"

8/10 Good
"The cabin was very nice. The four season deck overlooking the river was our favorite place. Bedroom didn’t have a closet so that was unusual but still enough space to put our suitcases. We would stay there again."

"Nice property, but not as close to the river as depicted in the photos. Not much glassware, but otherwise well stocked. The property was not ready when we arrived at 4p, and it would've been nice to get a heads up email."

"Super nice cabincottage on the river. Love the back enclosed porch. Better more comfortable beds are the recommended upgrade. Too nice of place not to have nicer beds. Otherwise, we will be back. R"

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Finn Rock?
The best area to stay in Finn Rock is directly within the Finn Rock region itself, particularly along the McKenzie River corridor. This area is primarily defined by the McKenzie River and the surrounding Willamette National Forest. It's a naturally beautiful and relatively undeveloped region, with accommodations often taking the form of cabins, lodges, or holiday rentals located amongst the trees or with river frontage. Key features include easy access to the McKenzie Pass-Santiam Pass Scenic Byway (Highway 242) and the McKenzie River Trail. For couples seeking a tranquil escape, staying in a riverside cabin offers privacy and direct access to nature. You can enjoy the sounds of the river, go fishing, or simply relax on a porch surrounded by forest. Many accommodations here provide well-equipped kitchens, allowing for self-catering and a more secluded experience.Families will find this area excellent for outdoor adventures. Staying in a lodge or larger rental often means more space and amenities for everyone.
When is the best time to go to Finn Rock?
The best time to visit Finn Rock is during the summer months, from June to September, when the weather is warm and sunny.During this period, you'll experience pleasant temperatures, typically ranging from 20°C to 28°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities. The long daylight hours allow for extended exploration of the McKenzie River area and its natural beauty. This is great for those who enjoy hiking, fishing, or simply relaxing by the river.Spring (April to May) and autumn (October to November) also offer good conditions for visitors. In spring, the wildflowers begin to bloom, and the river flows are often higher, offering good opportunities for rafting and kayaking. Autumn brings cooler temperatures and the vibrant colours of changing leaves, which is particularly appealing for scenic drives and photography. However, you might encounter more rain during these shoulder seasons compared to summer.Winter (December to March) in Finn Rock can be cold and wet, with potential for snow at higher elevations. While some visitors enjoy the quiet solitude of the off-season, many of the outdoor activities are less accessible during this time.
