« We really loved Dan’s place! You couldn’t ask for a better view. It was a great place to get away from it all. My 9 year girls loved being able to explore the beach and we found tons of beautiful shells. Great snorkeling as well! I think we saw one other person walking on the beach during our stay. We did get some no see um bites at sunrise and sunset especially, so it was nice to have the screened in patio, Would still recommend some bug spray or pants during those times. « The house is very nicely appointed and was well kept. A few things are worth noting. The main dishwasher was not working and the caretake appeared to know about it but failed to tell us. If you want remote, this is remote. Honestly, you have to purchase everything in town - which is an hour drive away. The nearby restaurant closes at 5. That is not when they stop serving - that is when they shut the doors. »

« The cottages are simple, clean and adequately equipped. The beach is terrific and one can walk miles and see no one. At low tide the sand was wonderful. It was a safe place for kids to swim, collect shells and have fun. There are no activities except sun , sand ,and surf. Do bring all your groceries as there are no facility in the tiny town The beach bar and restaurant has the best conch fritters and lobster tails and is a one minute walk. Everyone is friendly and helpful. »

« The stay at Mrs. Doris' Ocean Pearl was wonderful. The cable was out in the room and the water went out the first day, but those were both beyond the hotel's control. Mrs. Doris was absolutely wonderful and was extremely accommodating. This is the perfect destination for those looking to get away from the world and slow down. Go visit Bishop next door and be sure to order the Crack Conch Dinner in the Ocean Peal kitchen. »
