Macdonald Alveston Manor Hotel & Spa

Macdonald Alveston Manor Hotel & Spa

8/10 Good
"The hotel is clean, comfortable, and truly is in walking distance to most of the places people want to visit. The only thing I was not crazy about is the layout of the roooms. I had to turn about 4 corners, duck through the bar, and go up and down a few short flights of stairs to get to my room. I also was not crazy about the Internet. I realize that most hotels do not necessarily have secure internet (i.e with a password, etc.). But when I went to sign in I got a very pronounced warning saying "Unsecured" that made me very nervous. I did use the internet on my phone, but my laptop holds more sensitive data. Maybe consider at least securing it with a password."

"Great Location. Nice facilities and gardens. There was a function room with an event happening and there was no noise in my room. However, the auto closers on the fire doors and the room doors meant there was a lot of slammed doors that were very loud."
