Extremely disappointed.
My wife and I were looking forward to a romantic night away, we'd booked the room months in advance and we had driven over a hundred miles of our 150 mile journey to get there when the hotel rang us to say that they'd given our room to someone else!!! However they were willing to pay for a B&B for us... Needless to say we turned around and made the trip back home again. This is a terrible way to treat customers, and I would definitely not risk making another booking at this hotel.
Great hotel, everything was very well done, including the “hotel art”. The food was very good and always generous portions. The staff was always friendly and very helpful. The rooms were spacious, and had bathtubs (yay). Planning to visit again ASAP. Oh, and hanging out in CastleTownBere was great; low-key and so pretty. Nice walks along the bay. Don’t miss Taste; a small but very effective organic foods shop, best coffee, good sandwiches- perfect for picnic

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
Staff very nice and pleasant but seemed but under pressure with a full house that night. Had to ask twice for coffee at breakfast, three times to settle my bill etc. Very little noise insulation between rooms. Could hear multiple conversations in nearby rooms and music playing all night.
Loved this hotel. Lovely location overlooking the harbour just a few minutes walk into town. The staff are so friendly and helpful and the food is great, especially the breakfast. The room was clean with a really comfortable bed. Mark, the owner/ manager is a great guy. We'll be back for sure.
A wonderfully refurbished hotel with a welcoming staff and great location. The comfort of the bed was 200%. We had a very pleasant stay there. The dinner we had was 10 out of 10, beautifully prepared seafood and the service impressive. The breakfast menu looked out of this world with a wide range of options, but found the omelette was very heavy and the French toast were overly syrupy. Would definitely recommend this place and will return here in the future.
Everything was perfect. Food was amazing. Big selection for breakfast. Dinner menu was great. Best calamari rings I ever eat. Room was nice and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
And also very dog friendly.
Thanks for everything-Anna, Robert and
Pugs.
Helpful staff, walking distance to town, very comfortable bed.

Disliked: Room comfort
Disappointing
Not a great hotel. Our bedroom was pretty soulless. Too expensive for what it was, I thought breakfast was included in my rate but the hotel/Expedia did not make it clear that it wasn’t included and they tried to charge us €30 for our breakfast. So that would have been a rate of €185 for one night. Bad value. We went in to the village to the Tea Room for breakfast instead, was brilliant quality food at half the price!
The hotel was set in a beautiful location in the lovely and quirky town of Castletownbere. The room was a good size and we were offered a plentiful breakfast the next morning. There is a bar in the hotel and also a number of restaurants and bars in the local town, which was a few minutes' walk away.
The place is very upscale for such a small town and has very nice amenities. Our only complaint was the very fancy bathroom sink is such a poor design that it splashed water on you while using it. Otherwise no complaints and very happy that we chose to stay here.
Friendly staff and great views of the harbour and fishing trawlers. Nice room with great water pressure in the shower - need to be careful as the water will spill onto the floor. We found the room very warm and quite noisy due to humming of machinery (maybe an air con unit?). We didn't eat in the hotel, so can't comment on breakfast or food.
If you enjoy peaceful and glorious coastal scenery this is the one for you. The hotel has a great location , you will be very well looked after by the excellent staff, not forgetting the beautifully cooked breakfasts.Chill out and enjoy.
Our stay in this hotel as always was most enjoyable and the attention of management and staff was superb.
This hotel management team definitely know how to make their customers happy !!!
Short but sweet. We are two retired soldiers, One from the Bundeswher (German Army) and one from the United States Army and we were comfortable here especially with staff.
This hotel was in a lovely location.I really enjoyed my stay here and will definetely be going back. The management and staff are very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is a must as the food was top class
