Needed a hotel to depart out of Cancun airport the next day. Yes, it’s an old and dated hotel. We opted not to pay extra to eat breakfast as there are plenty of cheap good places walking distance. Was annoyed that there was no extra roll of toilet paper, also no hairdryer in room. Had to go to front desk and was ask to return it when done. It’s marginally acceptable place. Staff was excellent. The hotel is undergoing some renovations, which did not disturb my rest at all, but the pool is closed for renovations. It was quiet and easy to sleep at night, but busy and active in the area surrounding the hotel during the day. I safely enjoyed walking all around the area by myself all times of the day and evening. They were honest and catering. I stayed for one night only because I ended up coming to Mexico earlier than planned but even still I was properly tended to. Yes the standards are different but when you come from another country it’s best to embrace the different standards of living. The massage I got here was literally out of body. Beyond what I needed and it carried me the rest of the trip. Pool area is great, has a retrofit circulation setup. The area is well vegetated for shaded areas and aesthetics but could use a leaf skim 3 times a day. Staff are excellent. The property could use a deep steam clean and freshening up, but is well cleaned. They will need some pre updating to avoid becoming a rundown establishment in the next 2 years. Only critical concern was not having a TV to cast to and internet dropping for a minute or two. We stayed 8 nights and enjoyed ourselves and would recommend staying here in the near future. And yes they have a famous public spa, a massage for 870 pesos for 80min.
