Great Bridge Vacation Packages

We have been to Virginia Beach many times but this was our first time staying at the Colony. We were in one of the end rooms and found the floor plan worked very well and the rooms were spacious. Everything was clean and the beds were comfortable. The balcony was the largest of all of the places we had stayed at in Virgina Beach. The only downside to the balcony is that our room was very close to the neighboring hotel so there wasn't a feeling of privacy. The kitchen was well equipped. We cooked a few small meals there and had no issues. All of the small appliances that we used worked but some could use updating. The staff we encountered were all friendly and helpful. We had a trouble connecting to the WiFi when we arrived but once we contacted the office, it was resolved within minutes. We also liked that you were guaranteed a parking spot and didn't need to wonder if you'd be able to get another if you left. Some of them could be a little challenging to get in and out of, depending on the size of your vehicle. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and if we visit Virginia Beach again, the Colony will be at the top of our list when looking for a place to stay.

It s a very nice resort. We will stay again. It would be nice if some sort of breakfast was offered. Only complaint is the security person makes u feel uneasy. You need your room key to even access the elevators and my grand daughter had went to the pool and we came a few minutes later and tapped on the door for her to let us in. He questioned us like we were trespassers and proceeded to follow us all the way back to our room. We was looking for our granddaughter whom had our room key. She had went a different way than we did. Other than that everything was nice.

Not sure why the hotel got low reviews , i had a great experience ,Debra was super helpful checked me in 2 hours before check in time, room was large nice cleaned daily, location walking distance for downtown, yes some bathroom need slight update due to age of the hotel, no breakfast included . bottom line if you good with 3 star hotel, fair rate ,than its great choice.
