***Colorado Winter Warning: As part of staying in a historic Colorado mountain cabin, there are a few things to keep in mind. The cabin is not on a paved road, but a dirt road that can difficult to navigate with snow on the ground. An AWD can still experience issues, so a 4WD vehicle is a must to ensure there are no issues reaching the cabin. The historic nature of our cabin also means that if the temperature drops too low below freezing the pipes may freeze. While we have steps in place to minimize this, it does still happen on occasion.*** Guest access This cabin is yours to enjoy. Other things to note The cabin was built in 1926 and was the residence of the miner who worked the gold mines in the area. It was built on 5 acres known as the Rex 1 mining claim. We have attempted to preserve much of the main living space like the original floors and fireplace. The kitchen and bathroom were added in the late fifties and were remodeled in 2021. The fireplace was converted to gas for the conscience and safety of our guest. We hope you will enjoy.
