8.6/10 Excellent! (230 reviews)
Stayed for two nights, what a disaster it was. On arrival the first night, I checked in, then had to literally drag our luggage by myself with one woman also petite like me about a 5 minute walk from the hotel to the room. While we were walking and dragging the bags up the stairs, a worker on a golf cart sped by and waved and said Kalispera! Didnt offer to help. Then the room smelled strongly of mold and was falling apart. Second room was improved in terms of the smell, but same tired, deteriorating decor. Beds were hard and uncomfortable with cheap linens. I thought I would be staying in the main hotel, but instead I was in one of the "Bungalows" far away from the hotel. You need to drive to get to the hotel itself where any amenities and the breakfast is. Breakfast was mediocre for Greece. Coffee was extra. I was told if I wanted to use the beach or pool facilities I had to spend at least $5 euro. I declined, what a low life request, if you never said anything I would have easily spent that to enjoy my time at the facilities! What a turn off. Location is good but the hotel itself is deteriorating. Staff did accommodate my request the second night to not sleep in a mold infested hole, but really that first room was not suitable for human habitation anyway and should have been closed. I paid over $600 USD for the 2 nights and it wasn't worth the price at all. Many better places to stay with clean rooms and excellent facilities and breakfast. I would skip this one.

9.6/10 Exceptional! (34 reviews)
We had the absolute privilege of staying at Bellevalia Hydra, and it exceeded every expectation. The location is simply breathtaking, the rooms are beautifully designed, the views are spectacular, and the food is exceptional.
What truly sets this hotel apart, however, is its incredible staff. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and every member of staff went above and beyond to make our stay genuinely unforgettable.
It’s almost impossible to single people out because every single person was outstanding, but a special thank you must go to Anna, who went out of her way to make our stay extra special. Stephanous and his wonderful restaurant team, Sergio and Christos, delivered such incredible food and warm hospitality that we didn’t want to dine anywhere else on the island.
Thank you also to Renata at reception, Anthony and Paulos at the bar, Alessio, who found us the perfect spot on the beach every day, and Jacob, our friendly water taxi guide, whose warm welcome always put a smile on our faces.
Bellevalia Hydra is so much more than a beautiful hotel, it’s a place where genuine hospitality makes you feel completely at home. We leave with wonderful memories and can’t wait to return.

9.2/10 Wonderful! (67 reviews)
My plan was to give this property 1 or 2 stars but it earned 3 stars because of the private adult only beach which made this vacation so much better. A few things as heads up:
1.) the check in time is 3pm, seems to me that they intentionally keep you wait till 3pm as we were offered an early check in for 1250 Euro (yep, you heard it right) but got into the room at 3pm. We went to the beach so didn’t mind too much.
2.) some of the sea front rooms are NOT sea front rooms. We were told that we got a sea front room but it was sea view.
3.) the area is not that nice outside of the resort.
4.) There are a lot of families, a lot. Coming back to the room we couldn’t use the private pool because we were surrounded by families and noise. Same for breakfast. Same for the pool and beach area. What saved our vacation from being a disaster was the private adult only beach. The adult only beach is in a great location and a much better view than the hotel.
Overall, the hotel is completely over priced and over hyped and we would probably choose a different place when we are back in the area.

"To be honest I was a bit disappointed, considering the price the food was not good at all , not fresh and very bad service, the robes of the spa were so old and holes in the robes , and shortage of staff, so for example the bell boy was doing the reception work , serving coffee and opening the hotels ..."
