Come experience wellness in the wild and your home away from home with steam showers, luxury linens/amenities, and a shared hot tub. The Ferncliff Lodge aims to allow guests to escape the fast paced city life and relax for a few nights. Ferncliff sits a bit over an hour away from Denver, CO as well as just 20 minutes away from the town of Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park, known for their rustic mountain charm and incredible hiking/sightseeing. The Space: The Mount Meeker room sits alongside our 3 lodge/hotel style rooms. The suite boasts a king bed with a loveseat to relax on as well as a balcony to take in the nature around you. Additionally, there is a walk-in steam shower with heated floors. The suite also has a kitchenette equipped with a small sink, dishes/utensils, toaster oven, coffee/tea/hot chocolate maker, and a closet. Guest Access: Your stay at the Mount Meeker Suite will be contactless, but we do have staff on call to help with any requests. 48 hours before your arrival you'll receive detailed check-in instructions including your code for the smart locks. There is no front desk on property. You'll have access to your reserved room, as well as the community hot tub area and deck. The Neighborhood: Directly across the street from the property there's Ferncliff Food & Fuel, which is a small supermarket and gas station for any essential needs. In the summer, they're fully stocked with everything from toiletries to meats and pizza. There is also a laundromat across the street as well as a a liquor store with a great selection and 2 fuel pumps. There's a back entrance to Rocky Mountain Park a few minutes down the road as well as the entrance to Long's Peak. Within 15 minutes you'll find some of the best hiking and wildlife Colorado has to offer. Getting Around: We recommend renting or bringing a car to best explore the surrounding areas. There isn't any public transit in the area until you get to Estes Park or Lyons. During the winter months, we also strongly recommend an AWD or 4WD car whenever going to the mountains. Other Things to Note: Ferncliff isn't a big mountain town, so we recommend bringing anything you need with you for your stay. If you forget anything, there's always the market across the street. Ferncliff is a rural town which means there's no cell service, but we do have high speed Starlink Internet on the property. Interaction with Guests: Our lodge operates as fully contactless so there aren't any full time staff and there isn't an office on the property. We brought our large dog and, even with our backpacking gear, the small room accommodated us comfortably. We especially enjoyed the steam shower and relaxing with coffee on the back porch.The bed was a bit softer than we prefer, so if you like firmer mattresses, you may want to bring additional support. We also met the owner during our stay and found him to be very kind and professional.While the area is peaceful, sound does travel easily from guests outside. It didn’t bother us, as our neighbors were very respectful, but it’s something to be aware of if you’re sensitive to noise.We recommend stocking up on supplies in Lyons or Estes Park before arriving, as the local food and fuel stores are quite limited and significantly more expensive. For dining, we highly recommend The Grill Guy. Doug, the owner, serves delicious burgers, soups, and sandwiches — and if you’re friendly, he’s known to spoil his guests a bit! We really enjoyed both his food and hospitality.Traveling to Estes Park from the lodge was smooth, easy, and the drive was absolutely beautiful. We picked up additional groceries at the Safeway there, which had everything we needed.Please note that this is a remote area with no cellular service, though the provided Wi-Fi is reliable and extends quite far.Overall, it was a great experience, and we appreciated the peaceful setting and thoughtful amenities. ##### Sierra P.
