"We had an unexpected layover in Venlo and stayed here 1 night. It is a beautiful, quiet property nestled in a forest area. The staff was accommodating and the room was very nice. It was not walking distance to Venlo or the train station but the taxi ride was inexpensive. No restaurants near the hotel but the hotel does have a bar/restaurant with a picturesque patio area and friendly staff. "

Everything would have been fine... except for several attempts in the morning to give me a "breakfast", without telling me clearly that it wasn't included, and without telling me it would cost me 14 euros for some eggs, ham and toast - quite an outrageous price. "This place is an aging hotel that needs the rooms to be renovated but I think the lower prices reflect that.. My room had a small bit of wallpaper coming loose and the shower head was badly located but other than that it was just dated. It was clean and spacious with a good view of the courtyard.. Plenty of parking on a hard stand surface (not gravel) so I deal for my motorcycle.. we had a good continental breakfast included in the very reasonable tariff.. Overall I would highly recommend this...

"It was a 5 day business stay from abroad. It is hard to get around without a taxi or bike. Uber is available but the wait time varies from 15-25 minutes. I had dinner at their restaurant twice. The dinner was great but the service is below average. I found the place to be a bit expensive. The rooms and views were great. I asked for electric kettle to drink hot water but they did not provide and suggested to use Nespresso Coffee Machine which is a bummer. "
