"My wife and I had a fabulous 2 night stay. Our room was lovely, staff were very helpful and friendly and the food was first class. The bar was a lovely place to relax after a long day walking. We would definitely return for another visit. I have only one observation to feedback, and its minor. The decor in our bathroom was tired and needs looking at. The bathroom was clean and tidy, but paint work and fixtures were beginning to show their age."

Owner excellent with communication, everything you need for a family holiday. All you need in Millom including Tesco's and eateries. Food deliveries even to caravan....

"Although the room looked a bit dated, it none the less added to the charm and ambience. Staff were very helpful and showed real interesting in guests including my wife and I. Breakfast very good especially the scrambled eggs. If you stay here try the scrambled eggs and salmon on toast. Only downsize is the parking, however as I’m disabled parking in the street outside was no problem."

I really liked having access to fresh milk that we could take up our room to make tea. The room was well equipped- useful USB charging point on the wall beside the bedside table. Breakfast excellent - hot food cooked perfectly to order and a good selection of cereals, yoghurt, fruit etc at the buffet. The EV charger was very convenient. The hotel is not licensed but there is a cabinet in the lounge with a great selection of glasses that can be used with any drinks you bring in. All in all our lovely accommodation ensured we had a very enjoyable short break at the lakes. 😊"

"We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Royal Oak in Keswick. All the staff were really helpful and friendly, and Cerys, in particular stood out, checked us in efficiently, and without fuss. She also recommended local places to eat, one being the the Fellpack, which was excellent. Our room was well-equipped and cosy, newly, tastefully decorated. The location was accessible to the town shops, bars and restaurants, all within walking distance. We would recommend parking at the local rugby club, rather than trying to workout complicated parking times and amounts at the council car parks. The hotel restaurant was cosy with delicious, home cooked menu choices."
