"A very good, slightly formal hotel that's maintained to a high standard. Breakfasts are generous. Rooms well kept. Dinners well prepared. Location was perfect for us as it wasn't too busy. My only constructive feedback is that staff were not the friendliest I've encountered. However, all in all a good experience and happy we stayed there."

"Riverside is exceptional. The peaceful backyard with the jetty and view is the best start you can have for your day. Great for kids, we brought a small fish net. The house is clean, comfortable and full of character and charm, and has everything you could possibly need. The living room and kitchen were very spacious, the Smart TV and the wifi worked perfectly. Plus every window looks out onto a beautiful backdrop. The welcome pack was fun. The location is great, you can walk or take a bus to many attractions. Jonathan was a very kind and helpful host. Saw to our every need, and shared tips and recommendations for lovely walking trails and good places to eat. Wonderful experience all in all, and borrowdale is a superb destination for vacation!"

"Had a fantastic stay at Brandlehow. The location is unbeatable, with stunning views over Derwentwater and direct access to the lake. The cottage was comfortable and well-equipped, with everything we needed for a relaxing family break. We especially loved spending time in the garden taking in the incredible scenery. Highly recommend it to anyone visiting the Lake District."

"A couple of things- the fridge isn't working very well- I appreciate it was very hot last week but it was difficult to get the fridge to the correct temperature. The refuse and recycling bins were not collected whilst we were there and had not been collected the previous week either as they were very full"
