« Though bijou, it was well designed and the space was very well used. The outside space was good and lovely to have the hills around, We did have problems using the very modern microwave/grill and cooker - It needed DETAILED WRITTEN INSTRUCTIONS! and we would have preferred an ordinary electric kettle. A corkscrew, too would have been useful!But, we enjoyed a wonderful 2 days »

« We have recently returned from a 4 night break at Tawny cottage. Already knowing the Keswick area well we knew Portinscale would suit us well - outside the bustle of Keswick but within easy walking distance down a nice path, and easy access to local country walks. The cottage was immaculate in both cleanliness and decor - and well equipped - with off street parking. Our adult daughter had the 2nd bedroom with 2 single beds ( would have been a perk if was 2 singles which could be set up as a King...

« We booked Ruby's cottage extremely last minute so we weren't expecting to find somewhere this good! Such a gorgeous house in the most stunning location. We loved the loft room and seeing a mountain out of each window (we especially enjoyed looking at Blencathra after we had climbed it!) The front garden was so nice to sit and read in while our toddler napped. So easy to get to Keswick and other lovely places. Great pubs, lovely cafe & a nice little play park very close by. Well-equipped house...

« The lords seat was a lovely place to stay, very comfortable and clean. Great location with amazing views. Nice to have the extras like the dvds and games. The only disappointing thing was the water going off (ironic in the lake district) but obviously not your fault. The only thing that would have helped is instructions on a couple of things. We struggled with the hob as it clicks off every time we put the pan on and hadnt used that sort of hob before so took a while to figure it out. It was a...
