« Such a wonderful experience! The Shire was the perfect setting for a relaxing weekend in nature. We enjoyed kayaking, sitting by a fire, and soaking in the hot tub. The house is so charming, and the property is simply magical. Mentone was also very cute. We loved getting tea at The Mad Hater, and dinner at Elevation and The Wildflower Cafe was delicious (make a reservation). We hope to come back every season to see all Mentone has to offer. »

« Not as seen in photos! Pics make the place seem like a cute little themed cottage with plenty of natural light and tasteful decorations. The place was cramped and overdone with stuff, had towels and other non-curtain fabric hanging on windows. Had an overpowering scent of mildew. Everything we took into the house smells terrible now and has to be washed ASAP. »

« Tranquil and so very peacefull. The home is beautilfy decorated. We had deer in the back yard the first night there. The next day in traveling to Desota Falls we saw 8 Deer grazing along the road way. We are thinging about when we can get back and say in the same home! »

« This is the first time we have stayed in a yurt and the experience was really good. We will definitely consider staying here again. The location was great for all of our excursions that we took. We were kind of bummed about the record player. LOTS of great 45's but when we tried to play them there really wasn't much sound coming out of the player. Plenty of towels and hot water :) Cooking was fairly easy. »

« The cottage was super adorable and very clean. My husband and I loved staying here. There were so many beautiful places to explore that weren't far from the cottage. We would definitely stay here again! »

« The house was very clean and quiet. The owners were very quick to respond to all of my messages. The view off the back porch was not as good as advertised due to the height of the trees and we did not have access to a washer and dryer while there. Otherwise, we had a very nice stay at this house! »

« The coffee maker was a big problem. It was designed to grind beans. There was no way to turn off the grinder. If that fact had been communicated prior to our stay, it would have been very helpful! »

« If you're looking for a laid-back, beautiful retreat - this is it! It is just as it is photographed! Such love and care was put into making this getaway stress-free. So many DVDs, board games. Kitchen is stocked with all the little things. Bobbie & Ray are such great hosts. They are available and close by. THE BED - Oh my gosh, THE most comfortable bed! We will definitely be returning to their little slice of heaven! »
