I really enjoyed the stay. The owners/team were just wonderful and welcoming. The entrance was a little confusing to find as it's not signposted, but they did send me instructions before I arrived. I would definitely stay here again, and thank you to the team for being so welcoming.
Marco and team were so helpful and welcoming. They helped me with reservations and really made the trip a great experience. The room and view were beautiful. Would recommend and will be back! Found a new home from home in Venice.
The Palazzo Malipiero is so beautiful and breathtaking and in a great area. Our room was clean with high ceilings and a comfortable bed, just as beautiful as the outside of the palazzo. Yes, there are stairs going up but you will find that in every area of Venice and almost in every hotel so be prepared. All in all we would stay at Malipiero Trevisan a hundred times when we come back. We absolutely loved it! Btw Marco and Enrica were so helpful with everything we needed. I hope you get to experience Venice and this palazzo.
Small room, low ceiling in attic room and lots of mosquitoes at night if windows are open .. nice experience in Venice in an old castle .. but uncomfortable with bathroom in a hall way and the small attic room. Would not stay there for more than one night .
This is a beautiful palazzo directly next to Campo Santa Maria Formosa that is rented out by the two very kind owners. The building is pristine and ornate, and the room was spotless, albeit a bit small. The room was air conditioned, and the shower had endless hot water and high pressure. The location is great - easy to walk to anywhere, but not overwhelmed by traffic. If I could improve one thing, it would be that the TV in the room was not a TV that I could cast my phone to, so we couldn’t really use the TV. Overall it was an excellent experience, we really enjoyed staying in an authentic palazzo rather than a traditional hotel.
Beautiful property good location clean. Helpful staff. I didn't realize this was not a hotel when I booked so was hard to find. There is not 24 hr staff onsite but was very safe
This property was pleasantly old, as so many are, however there are flights of step in the building to the check in desk, there is no lift or elevator. The owners of the property were very nice and helpful with all our needs. I would recommend that there be in house access to coffee in the mornings. We did enjoy our time there.
I had an amazing stay at this guesthouse, located in the heart of Venice at a walkable distance from the Rialto Bridge. However, since Venice is designed this way, you will still cross at least 5 bridges with stairs up and down. Please pack with this in mind, as the ferry only brings you to Rialto Bridge from the airport. Please note that this is a 16th-century palace that has been converted into a guesthouse; please prepare accordingly. The roof has Tintoretto paintings and original 16th-century furniture and decor. Accordingly, the place is strictly non-smoking. The owner of the palace is a very nice and helpful man, and they made my stay extremely wonderful. I highly recommend this place. Please make sure that you confirm the details on the Expedia listing against the current requirements in Venice, as the listing is outdated.
This was an amazing experience! Our suites were beautifully appointed, well cleaned, and looked over Campo Santa Maria. The location was perfect for walking around Venice and we were able to walk to most points within a few minutes. The building has kept most of its historic charm and provides a stay that transports you to a life in history. The owners were WONDERFUL! They were incredibly helpful with recommendations, assistance booking local transportation, and made delicious cappuccinos at breakfast. We would stay here again without a second thought.
We stayed Sept. 14-16, 2026; Had a great time! Great weather, great people, amazing sights!
We had the Jr. suite room at the top of the palace (7 flight of steps, pack light, theres no elevator). Located in a comfy spot where the daily rate wont kill you; The plaza of San Marco and south coast of the Grand Canal are near-by.
The Venetian host was a little nervous attending to foreigners, which was unsettling at first, but she was super humble and did try her best to communicate. They provide 3 keys. 1 key for entry to the hotel (locks automatically upon closing), 1 key for entry to the room chambers, and finally 1 old school toy key for your actual room.
The palace was built in the 1400s, the hallways have uneven floors, and motion activated lights that sometimes dont detect well. You just might end up in the dark, in a creepy palace hoping you have the right key for the next door. The room itself hosts a low ceiling, a small table for two and a modest queen size bed with a tv, closet space for two, a/c and a marble tiled bathroom with toilet, bidet, shower and sink.
All in all, the pictures were a little misguiding. The view they present is the lobby, which looks out to the plaza next to a church, and a couple of black lion statues. I probably would not have stayed in this hotel had I known otherwise, but glad I did. It made for a great adventure and some wonderful memories for our honeymoon.
