"Comfortable hotel with easy access to University"
This hotel provided a good base for attending a conference at the University, one stop away on the metro but also a pleasant walk along the lakeside if you have 20 minutes to spare. Access to the main city is also quick and easy. I had a room on the 4th floor which was both quiet, comfortable and cheerful. A good breakfast is also available, with several local restuarants for dinner.
Excellent food while you have a beautiful view on the river . A sense of history with an old Europe architecture coupled with the moder amenities you would expect of a modern day hotel. Staff is courteous and did I mention that the food is excellent?
This recently (November 2014) renovated hotel was a great place to stay. The room was nice and the staff was excellent! The morning breakfast was good and held me over until lunch time. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a nice boutique hotel.
Nice hotel. Provides all you need. Excellent breakfast selection that starts early and runs till late. Only slight nigle would be twin beds instead of a double. Otherwise, clean, friendly with a comfortable lobby. 5 minute walk to the nearest tube. 2 mins for a bus. Supermarket to the side for anything you need. Free and excellent WiFi coverage and speed throughout the hotel.
The main reason for choosing this hotel was its proximity to the student accommodation that our daughter is currently staying in while studying at Stockholm university, however it was also convenient for the city centre via the metro with the nearest station being less than 10 minutes walk away. The room was not large but was adequate and was clean. The bar area was very pleasant and the food good value compared to other eating places in Stockholm. The staff were generally helpful and spoke excellent English.

We stayed at this hotel in 2011 when it was the Hotel Gustav Vasa, and liked it well enough to return for a two-night stay in Stockholm in June 2015. The hotel is located in a quiet and attractive part of Stockholm, and is situated around the corner from the Odenplan metro stop (it's a short, four-stop metro ride to Gamla Stan). Now part of the Ibis chain, the rooms have been remodelled and updated. Our room was quite small, but was well-appointed. As is often the case with hotels in this price range, the bathroom was tiny (basically a shower stall with a toilet and sink). The buffet breakfast (included in our room rate) was excellent, and the staff was very friendly. We'd recomment the hotel and would stay there again.
Set back from Stockholm's harbor and Old Town, Vasatan is a trendy residential part of the city, with beautiful architecture and lush parks. It is known as the Off-Broadway of Stockholm for its many theaters.
