"This is a nice old inn. The highlights of our room were the excellent bedding inclluding high-quality sheets, and a nicely done new shower. The downside was that we never saw a single person – guest or staff. It seems that this is a self-serve inn, from retrieving your key from a lockbox to brewing your own coffee in the morning. This turned out not to be a huge problem, but it did seem strange to have no human contact."

Holiday Inn Express Vernon - Manchester by IHG

"The staff, in particular a wonderful staffer named Sean, was over the top in his kindness, helpfullness, and was a model in Front Desk manners and greeting. The manger was also polite and professional. The breakfast buffet at this Holiday Inn Express was very good. They manged to provide for all types of guests breakfast demands and needs. The pool looked inviting and the gym was good and functional, though a bit too cold. The cleaning services were thorough and very good. Tje only issues we had were the carpeting in the bedroom showed signs of wear and was musty and looked dirty. The AC worked very well, but leaves the room musty, stuffy, and smelling moldy. We had our hand fans that we ran throughout the night to keep the air circulating. This is also a great place for writers to come study people and guests. There are characters that certainly would be great included in stories. We travel a lot and for some reason this hotel has some very interesting guests."
