I stayed here for 3 days with my family, we were all blown away. The hotel is beautiful and elegant, the staff are friendly and the facilities are brilliant. Convenient location also for the main attractions. I would stay here again and would recommend to people.

"Quiet Victorian hotel beautifully furnished"
My visit was after the end of the Summer season, so the hotel was exceptionally quiet, and for a lot of the time most of the lights were out. The breakfasts were excellent, with hot food freshly prepared to order and served on warm plates. A rare treat these days!

Needs decorating inside & out, the rooms need new furniture before someone hearts them self on it. they charge £15.00 per night for being dog friendly (giving you a new blanket and ball, very nice) But £15.00 a night for deep cleaning it would have been nice if they had done that for me! The breakfast was nice, but getting ice cold milk for the tea/coffee?

"Close to Plainmoor"
This is a super little guest house. I did have second thoughts after I had booked, but these were banished when I arrived. The room was spacious and fully furnished with just about everything you might expect. The Shower was very powerful and the towels seemed a bit larger than usual. I was in Torquay for the football and the ground is only 10 minutes walk away. Breakfast was excellent. The only thing I could find wrong was no electric shaver socket in the bathroom, no problem for me but might be worth knowing.

"Nice 2 day break"
We booked a 2 day break for my birthday we always go abroad but one a year we love to go to an English seaside town,so we choose Torquay and did a bit of reminiscing as my partner used to come down with his parents, wife and young children,oh how some things have changed. The weather was not kind to us but we made the most of it and must say staying in the Grand helped a lot as there is lots of room to sit and read, also the leisure centre is very good to while away a few hours.

"Great guesthouse"
The guest house is really nice and clean, the room was spacious and the bed comfy. The hosts are very helpful. The breakfast was very good and a good choice of food available. It is situated close to the beach, but not very close to the town center.

"Was in Torquay for the football v Bromley FC"
Arrived lunch time, checked in, was given room overlooking the bay - very nice. Had a quick pint in the garden/ bar - very nice too. Was out for football match and a night out. Arrived back and slept soundly in comfy bed and it was quiet night. Hot shower in morning, towels and washing toiletries provided. Team and coffee in room. Cooked English breakfast was exactly that and very nice. Staff were helpful, polite and cheery.

"Central but back enough from the hustle & bustle"
Stayed 1 night at Haytor Hotel whilst visiting an elderly relative in the area. It was a lovely place to stay after a long 10 hour journey through the night. Roger & Peter were welcoming from the start & the room was everything you could have wanted: delightful, comfortable with added touches. Good selection of wines in the bar, and a delicious hearty breakfast in the morning, served by a lovely friendly lady. Nothing too much trouble. Would revisit tomorrow & would gladly recommend Haytor Hotel. A bit of class.

"Relaxing Autumn Break"
The welcome we received was helpful and friendly. Everything relating to our stay was clearly explained: times and where to take breakfast; after 11pm arrivals; bus times, etc. The room was very clean. White bedding and covers had no historic marks. Towels folded neatly on the beds. The bathroom and loo was very clean. We had a wonderful view across to Torquay. Breakfast was very good and the full English was really full! The Manager (?) was always around and served the drinks in the lounge when we arrived back in the evenings (super views of the sea and Torquay from the Lounge). We were able to leave our cases at the hotel on the last day as our train didn't leave till after 3pm and so enabled us to enjoy the last few hours in Torquay. Buses every 12 minutes stop close to Waters Edge hotel. We couldn't have wished for a better place to stay.
