An unforgettable stay with an incredible sunset view. From the moment we arrived, everything about our stay was exceptional. Our room was extraordinary — beautifully designed, comfortable, and with a stunning view that made it feel truly special. Having our own private pool was an amazing touch and made the stay even more relaxing. The common pool area was another highlight, especially around sunset. The views were absolutely breathtaking, and watching the sun go down over the ocean from the...

Exactly as expected. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back again. Gabriela was extremely responsive to any questions and concerns. The area is close to many beaches by walking or a quick Uber ride. Amenities nearby and the vibe of surf side is truly a great experience.

I spent two days here and it was unlike any other lodge/hotel I’ve been to before. The rooms are beautiful, the pool is stunning, the jungle gym is also such an amazing addition but nothing tops the the host himself, he made sure every question was answered and I truly felt at home almost 4000 km from Canada. Pura vida!!

We had an excellent time at the Mikado. It was our first time to Costa Rica and it was probably one of our best holidays. Such a fun adventure. Lolo was an excellent host and if you do stay you must take advantage of her dinners. Incredibly romantic. The location is perfect. Quick drives to Tamarindo, Playa Avellanas and Playa Conchal. Great places to explore and then return to the peace and tranquility of the lodge. Absolutely perfect.

This hotel is exceptional! When we arrived my husband was having an issue with some back pain. The hotel arranged for a Dr. to come to the hotel and help deal with the issue. They did this

Clean excellent food (breakfast) small not dance but exactly what I was looking for.

Close to everything, very clean and excellent service.

Great location as it is right on the beach but at one end of it so it’s a little quieter. Having said that you can still easily walk into the main area of the town to enjoy restaurant’s and the night life.

Very nice, clean accommodation in a central location, just off the really busy area of playa Tamarindo, so it’s quiet at night. Everything is still within easy walking distance. Our room had a large comfortable king size bed and a functional mini kitchen. Also the staff were incredibly kind and helpful and there are 6 parking spots at the back of the hotel property which are free and convenient.

This place is so, so, so amazing. The hosts are absolutely exceptional human beings. This is the only place you need to stay if you visit Playa Ocotal or the surrounding areas. You will be disappointed if you choose anywhere else! This place really is magical. It's quiet, it has a great view, great pool, and the breakfast is the best I had on my vacation. I also had dinner here, it was the best meal we had hands down, with a great bottle of wine, with a view to die for. Thanks again, Flo. You...

The staff was super friendly. The pool was great. Including dinner was a great addition. However you need u beds; ours was not very comfortable. We stayed in room 44

Perfect for a cheap stopover close to the airport.

This is a FABULOUS place to stay. We enjoyed relaxing here for 4 nights. Great food, great service, friendly helpful people, and the best pool on our 16 day trip. Alice was so helpful, and the young Michael was very pleasant

It was a very nice experience staying at this hotel. The staff was super friendly, there was a nice welcome drink upon arrival, the breakfast was delicious and satisfying, the room was very clean and comfortable, and although the beach is rocky (can't swim in it), it was beautiful to watch the sunset. Plus, they provide free sunset drinks at the beach, which was a pleasant surprise! We saw monkeys in the trees every evening just before sunset and you do hear them occasionally howling. The...

Wow, this place is on another level. I have never had such amazing service, food and surroundings. Arno is there to make sure every need is met. He is so knowledgeable and friendly. He helped guide to several things that are a must in the area. Emma is also fantastic. It was so nice to see her friendly face every morning and learn about her and the culture. The breakfast here, hands down, is the best I've had on any vacation. It's not your typical hotel breakfast. The chef makes everything...

Wonderful stay! Our bungalow was spacious, clean, and tastefully decorated. We really appreciated the daily cleaning, which made our stay even more comfortable. The breakfast was amazing with generous portions. The staff were friendly and very responsive to any questions or inquiries we had. Overall, a lovely, hidden gem, and we would happily stay at SoulShine again!
