The views are stunning and it feels exactly like the Alaska experience every tourist hopes for. Hammocks, mountain backdrops, a lawn full of flowers, and a restaurant to dine in—it has it all. Plus, it’s close to Matanuska Glacier. Great views. When driving past other lodges they didn’t look as nice as this one. I wish we were prepared to spend more time there. Their restaurant was closed but they had organized a BBQ for everyone to gather. They planned to set up a fire outside for others to gather. Unfortunately we arrived late and left before breakfast. The grounds are great for a hike or for sitting and relaxing. Staff super friendly and welcoming. Rooms were the most comfortable on our 2 week trip.
