Property has a second building, where I stayed (just over the bridge). Rooms were very modern, clean with good amenities in room. Strong ACcwas a good reprieve from the heat.

9.2/10 Wonderful! (707 reviews)
We stayed in the top floor suite with the balcony/ hot tub since there were 5 of us. The kids enjoyed the room layout. Had a fun little loft.
It was extremely hot in Lucern while we stayed and the room was really hot. They provided two fans but was not enough to cool it down at night. We were all waking up drenched in sweat throughout every night. I know this is pretty normal throughout Europe but given the cost of the room would have rather stayed in an air conditioned room elsewhere.
The breakfast was very handy each morning.

8.6/10 Excellent! (233 reviews)
My family and I stayed here for 7 days and made it as our base for our Switzerland trip. I could not have been more happy staying at this hotel. We stayed at the family room where it has A/C and to top it off there is a fan in the room which we used to circulate the air. Mind you, we were here in July - the middle of summer heat. Common complain I read is the noise of train passing by - but, the room seem to have been improved with double pane windows which helped reduced the noise significantly. I barely heard the train and slept vey well after a long adventure.
Highlight is just the included breakfast with so much selections! The cleanliness of the room and the nicest staff I have ever encountered in Europe. The gentleman at the buffet greets you with enthusiasm every morning, ask you if you slept well and takes care of every guest that comes in to eat. Oh man and the cheese they have there are outstanding!
And! Winterthur is just a charming place with a nice old town you can walk around, not to mention you’re just 5-8 min walk to the station.
I love love my stay at Hotel Banana City. One of best stay I’ve had in Europe.

8.4/10 Very good! (523 reviews)
"You get what you pay for, and this is one of the least expensive hotels in the city, so my expectations were realistic. The property feels more like a hostel or a basic 1-star hotel than a traditional hotel. The building is quite old and shows its age in many places. There is no air conditioning, ..."

9.2/10 Wonderful! (152 reviews)
"The hotel was absolutely wonderful, and was perfect for our stay. One thing to note is that it is quite steep between the bus stop and reception, if you have difficulty with slopes consider taking a car or travelling with someone who can help. The room we had was very accessible as was the restaurant ..."
