Rustic, Cozy, Lakefront Cabin On Leech Lake- Perfect For Families & Fisherfolk

10/10 Excellent
"An awesome stay for our family-our daughters enjoyed fishing off the dock and caught a nice variety of perch, blue gill, and rock bass. Our 12 year old daughter had a nice Muskie or northern pike on the first night but we neglected to bring a net so she lost it…she was bummed! From having a fish fry for breakfast to a spaghetti dinner to steak with wild rice (compliments of the hosts), we ate well! The cabin has everything you need; we bought cooking oil but they had it there along with laundry detergent to use and basic comforts. Skye was an awesome host who has thought of all the little things. We visited Itasca State Park one day but mostly just savored our time together at the cabin. We lucked out with cool weather and the mosquitoes were not bad. The gardens were gorgeous and we enjoyed watching the numerous pollinators including hummingbirds. We saw a lot of cool nature like a huge flock of birds we spotted flying over the water that landed to feed nearby. Other birds sighted including loons (they understand the assignment), eagles, pelicans, terns, a heron, ducks, and purple martins. We are hoping to return next summer for a longer stay. It was a fantastic experience for all!"

We enjoyed chatting with her to learn about the history of the place. We are definitely looking forward to making our visit a tradition. To top it off we had some really incredible wildlife sightings including a fox and doe/fawn pair."
