From South Point, it's roughly 110 miles (177 kilometers) to the west to Lexington and 110 miles (177 kilometers) to the northwest to Cincinnati.
The Virginia Point Park is a good spot to visit while you are in South Point. Another option is the Highland Memorial Gardens.
Of course, there's so much more to Southeast than South Point alone, so be sure to set aside enough time to enjoy the region's natural and cultural sights. If you've enough time, head 16 miles (26 kilometers) to Barboursville. Here you can spend an hour or two visiting the Village of Barboursville Park and Huntington Mall.
While you are in South Point, don't forget to enjoy Ashland. Approximately 5 miles (8 kilometers) away, this regional transport and shopping hub is where you can find Sandy Creek Golf Course, Central Park and Camayo Arcade. Don't rush back to South Point until you've stopped by Ashland's Pendleton Art Center, KYOVA Tri-State Mall and Highlands Museum and Discovery Center.
Take a trip to Southeast's popular historic bridges, it's an excellent way to get to know the region's colorful history.
Why not relax and enjoy during gentle pastimes such as shore fishing or wildlife watching. Both activities are well-loved options for both tourists and locals alike.
Sadly, vacations can't go on forever, so when it's time return home, you'll find the nearest major airport in Huntington, 4 miles (6 kilometers) to the southeast.
