Emma at the front desk went well above to make sure we enjoyed our stay. She made sure our room was well away from the large tour groups also using the facility. Indeed, we hardly noticed the other guests. She also made sure our spa and massage reservations were correct, even changing one to accomodate our changing schedule.. On another day, I stopped to ask where to find an odd size coin battery and the receptnist turned in her seat and said, "you mean like this?" And handed me the correct battery, she then declined to charge me for it. It didn't stop there as the bar, restaurant and housekeeping staff all went above and beyond to be helpful. The spa facilities were very relaxing with two separate hot tubs, a sauna and first class massage therapy services. Tour busses have difficulty navigating the narrow city streets, so there is an organized tour bus stop, #17, a very short walk away, in front of the Maratime Museum, a gateway to the wonders of the far north country. In summary, highly recommended.

Really cool atmosphere and a good location just out side of the main city. Only issue was the sheets and pillows were dirty.

The room was small and bathroom felt even smaller, water from shower was everywhere. The hotel was clean but definitely dated, the staff were friendly and helpful. I didn’t try the breakfast, as tbh it didn’t look overly appealing. What I was disappointed in was the noise outside which is out of the hotel control, however the bar across the street goes till 1 am during week and on Friday 3 am, people were still out on the street partying until close to 4 am. I understand and appreciate Reykjavik is a lively city… when you are travelling / touring all day, sleep is important and even being on the 5th floor the noise level felt like it was right outside my window. I wouldn’t say don’t stay here but if you value your sleep maybe research hotels that aren’t adjacent to bars, there’s lots of them in the city. The plus side is everything was within a 5 -10 min walk from the hotel. Very central :)
