We stayed at Hotel Rival twice, either side of a weeklong hiking holiday. One of the reasons we chose this hotel was because they were willing to hold our city break luggage between stays. They also accommodated an early check-in when we returned from hiking and were desperate for a shower! The front desk were very personable and remembered us when we returned. It was an excellent spot to explore Stockholm! It is right next to a metro station and Gamla Stan. Truly, location cannot be beat! They are in the midst of some renovations, they a putting in an elevator! Despite the slight inconvenience with the construction, it was still a 5 star experience for us. Would highly recommend!

We only got to spend one night here and wish we were able to stay for longer. It was an amazing hotel. The breakfast buffet was phenomenal and we’ve had some really excellent buffets in our time. Staff were super friendly, location perfect for wandering around, shopping (lost luggage) and generally just in a really cool neighborhood. The breakfast was great although it was sometimes difficult to find a table. It was an easy walk to the subway. The bathroom was small.

Clean, very quiet, very comfortable and well located. The room felt spacious, and if you don’t mind having no windows don’t hesitate to book.

I liked this hotel much better than a large chain hotel as it had character and the food was good, though the portions are small. It was an excellent place to stay for our first day in Sweden.

Great breakfast and the room was clean, spacious and comfortable. We stayed in a junior suite. Location is also good and close to major sites.

Room was definitely smaller than expected (only a foot or two on either side of the bed) but breakfast and location were good
