"Superb hotel in a great location. Very clean bedrooms and all areas of the hotel. The breakfast was brilliant, with lots of choice. But the best thing to me are the staff, who are all VERY helpful and cheerful. You can have a lovely building, rooms, food etc, but if the staff aren't pleasant then it's not good. I have to say ALL the staff members i met were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. VERY LOVELY HOTEL. "

"Three House Hotel deserves more than five stars! Our room was an apartment rather than just a hotel room, and it was perfect. The rooftop pool, deck and bar was great with comfortable seating, a very nice casual yet elegant decor and an incredible view of Funchal and the waterfront. "A bit of a mixed review. I could not contact the hotel via email or the Expedia app (quintabelasaotiago.com is not the domain name for the hotel email) prior to arrival. some of the front desk staff (Nadia) are excellent as is Sa in the restaurant but others are surly and disinterested. We asked to borrow an iron and were told at the front desk that we would have to pay - then it never turned up since the only way to get clothes ironed is to use the laundry service. We asked for a replacement...

"We really enjoyed our stay Santa Maria Hostel. The staff was very helpful and nice and our room was newly renovated and very clean. It's an easy walk to many things and we were able to find parking somewhat close for our rental car. The location can be quite noisy at night, but that didn't bother us. "

"Very helpful staff. Has a great pool. Our room had a fantastic view. There is a cafe on site with semi limited hours. it was walkable to the main part of town but too much to walk back to since it is way up the hill (but it is doable for many). You can request a breakfast basket for a cost and we did it once and you can pick as many items as you want and it was very nice and well worth it. We would stay here again! "

"When we arrived at Quinta Bela Santiago the hotel was overbooked . Expedia is selling this hotel to a tour operator so with no room despite paying in Advance we ended up at Quinta Bela Vistas Palace . The hotel was splendid into a very quiet area of Funchal . I was upset as we wanted to be in town but realised the staff at the reception were super nice and the breakfast staff too . Sadly no restaurant opens in this hotel but we had a lovely stay in Madeira thank you. "

"We were at no.55, which initially i was a bit concerned about. However it was lovely, we had a large room at the front. Noisy in Fri night but ok for the rest of the time. You are right in the old town afterall!"
