8.8/10 Excellent! (307 reviews)
The hotel was clean and staff was helpful however this hotel did not feel like a 4 star hotel. The hallway was very dimmed with few lights turning on when walking to your room from the elevator. There was no mini refrigerator or coffee machine in the room as you would expect from a 4 star hotels. There were 2 water bottles on the little table in the room and a safe. The shower doors very poorly installed and no matter what you do water was spilling out from the shower stall to the bathroom floor. The underground garage was good however the exit required assistance as only one door was opening automatically while the second required staff assistance ether through intercom or physically by scanning the staff’s badge. The breakfast location at the restaurant was fine however breakfast selection was extremely limited in comparison to other 4 star hotels. This hotel definitely felt as 3 stars the most and I would be hesitant to stay there again.

Villa Maia is in an amazing location, and was wonderful to stay at. The staff is incredibly kind, thoughtful and helpful. The concierge is so knowledgeable and helpful. The staff bent over backwards to help us to have a great stay. Julian and Baptiste helped my daughter find an apartment to rent, while she is there for school. The whole staff is wonderful! I will stay there every time I’m in Lyon!

Hotel has great location and pleasant rooms with A/C. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. The main challenge for me was the elevator, there is a single elevator for the whole hotel that serves 4 levels. We had often to climb by stairs four levels as it was busy or broken in the last night. Team however took care of luggage. Vallet service for the car was flawless as well as restaurant reservations. Breakfast was great, we have enjoyed it a lot. Last comment is about the cost which was pretty high, would recommend to compare before booking. Overall we enjoyed our stay very much.

9/10 Wonderful! (585 reviews)
"Good for an overnight stop enroute North to South in France. The drinks machine was out of order and no shops on the doorstep, ( nearest was 1km ), breakfast was fair but 9.5 euro's was a bit expensive. Room basic, shower and toilet in 1 room but no hand towel, only bath towel."
