We spent ten nights at Stonetrail, and it was a wonderful experience. The staff are lovely and friendly, and they went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The place is clean, the beds are super comfy, and the linens are so luxurious. I wanted to bring the blankets home with me. Even the beach towels are luxurious. The kitchen was impeccably stocked with everything you need to cook (not food); Randy's grocery store and a bakery are about a 15-minute walk away, and a fruit-and-veggies stand is just up the hill from the beach. It was easy to make most of the meal at the villa. The Wi-Fi worked amazingly well. The patio had a sea view and a beautiful breeze. I spent so much time reading and socializing with the staff and guests on the patio. Indian Bay beach is about a one-minute walk away, and if you take a left on the beach, the far end near the "snack shack" is a lovely place to swim. You will almost have the beach all to yourself. St. Vincent is picturesque and raw; the grocery stores are not westernized, the roads are chaotic, the people are so welcoming, and the scenery is breathtaking. You will have beaches to yourself, but this is not Hawaii or Mexico; without the commercialization, the fast food, the tourist trap, you find a hidden gem. Great food, clean accommodation, amazing people, and so much more. I am so blessed to have spent ten nights in this rustic paradise.

The property could use some updating; most everything is run down and overly dated, gurgling shower and broken landscape lights and all, they seem to operate on a bare bones shoestring budget, and barely stock items such as the bar with drink selections, poor and not restocked. The landscaping is shoddy and poorly maintained, and the mattresses are on the firmer side. What made up for it was the great-tasting food and the chef who bent over backward to provide for items that were missing on the menu for a great experience. I think the property fails on management, but the staff soldier through it to provide the best they can. Will we return? probably not, as the place is quite remote with nothing to do and no activities other than nothing, as they pride themselves on the art of doing nothing!

The staff is attentive and happy to assist with luggage. There are several sets of stone paver steps throughout the property, so it’s worth noting for travelers who may have difficulty with stairs. The lodging rooms are beautifully nestled into the hillside, with stone exteriors draped in vines and private terraces overlooking the estate, the valley, and the sea beyond. Palm-fringed beaches stretch below, completing the view. The rooms are spacious, offering both air conditioning and open-air elements, and carry an authentic West Indian charm. Dining on-site is a highlight—fresh, flavorful, and generously portioned. Some room rates include breakfast, so it’s a good idea to confirm whether it’s included or à la carte when booking. The pool sits below in a secluded, oasis-like setting. It’s expansive—perfect for swimming laps or simply unwinding in a peaceful atmosphere.
