"Room was quite small but very well equiped, everything worked and there was a bottle of chilled water in the fridge which was very much appreciated. Pool looked nice (didn't use it but several people did), not much in the way of a garden, small but well stocked bar. Restauarant was superb, really enjoyed our meal. Breakfast was very good, plenty of selection and good coffee from the machine. Hotel was very easy to find."

Hôtel Renaissance

10/10 Excellent

"I love this hotel. I sayed there so many times. The decoration of the rooms is amazing, Very clean. Soft bed clothes. Fully equipped, very good coffe as well. I feel there like at home. The girls in the reception as so kind."

Comfort Aparthotel Carcassonne

10/10 Excellent

"This was terrific value for money and would happily stay again. While it's a good 15 mins or so up a hill from the station, for £40 or so, there's nothing at all to complain about- big rooms with cooking facilities, microwave and even a dishwasher should you need it, a lovely swimming pool and staff who were knowlegable and extremely helpful; particularly Guaytan , who couldn't have been more efficient and personable. All in all, very good."

Greet Hotel Castres Saïx

8/10 Good

"We visited for a weekend from the UK to attend a wedding in the area. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and we arrived to find that our two twin rooms and had been changed to a family suite, which was perfect for our needs. Lovely breakfast and everything spotlessly clean. Air con was much appreciated during a very hot weekend. The only disappointment was that the pool was dirty and poorly maintained - I wasn’t even sure if it was open, the condition was so poor, with murky cloudy water. Our kids were a bit disappointed as they had been looking forward to it. Otherwise everything else was excellent."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Saint-Amancet?

The best area to stay in Saint-Amancet is within the village itself, or in the immediate surrounding countryside for those seeking a more secluded experience.

The village of Saint-Amancet offers a concentrated experience with easy access to its historic church, a few local shops, and the central square. It's a small, traditional French village, great for those who enjoy a slower pace and want to be able to stroll to local amenities.

For couples looking for a romantic getaway, staying in a gîte or a chambre d'hôtes just outside the main village is an excellent choice. These accommodations often provide more space, privacy, and scenic views of the rolling Occitan countryside, with properties frequently featuring private pools or extensive gardens.

When is the best time to go to Saint-Amancet?

The best time to visit Saint-Amancet is during the spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) months, when the weather is pleasant for exploring the region.

Spring offers mild temperatures, blossoming landscapes, and fewer crowds than the peak summer season. It's an excellent time for outdoor activities like hiking or cycling through the Tarn countryside, and you'll find the local markets bustling with fresh produce.

Autumn also provides agreeable weather, with the added beauty of changing foliage and the grape harvest season in nearby vineyards. This period is ideal for culinary experiences, including wine tasting and enjoying seasonal dishes at local restaurants.
