They gave us a choice between Hotel Montreal, and the Hotel D'Este next door. They own both properties. We chose Hotel D'Este, and they upgraded us to a balcony room, so we had a great view of St, Maria Maggiore from the balcony. Great location. 5 min. Walk to Termini, 15 to the Colosseum. But on night of 16th of July , when we check in, the receptionist (not Italian in original) is very rude. He did not find my reservation from Expedia. He did not find my names throughout his list. He told lie to me that all the rooms in Hotel Montreal now is closed. I tried to contact Expedia, but he wanted to get us out, telling: you are not my guest, no reservation, if you want to stay here you have to pay 70 EUR for tonight. Finally, Expedia contacted him. The truth Expedia hire room through other agency. This is the problem of Expedia. Terrible, terrible. I had spent much money for calling long distance to Expedia and took almost 2 hours to check in in talking with this terrible staff at his hotel. On the day I check out he still required me of the voucher from other agency (Jambo).
