We could hear other guests easily through the vents. Our room was through a building and down a flight of stairs without an elevator which was annoying with all our luggage. The bed was tucked in an alcove. Otherwise it was clean and fine.

We stayed in our apartment and it was a such a comfortable and cozy space. It was so relaxing to come back to our apartment at the end of long day tours. Thingholt is also walkable to many major attractions and a grocery store with reasonable prices (we bought our food and cooked at our room all 5 days to save money). Service from the staff was excellent as well. I definitely recommend a stay at Thingholt.

We stayed 4 nights in February,the apartment was very warm,vary spacious equipped with all you need,but I didn't liked the smell of the water. But definitely I'll choose again.

Great property. Location doesn’t get better, tucked away and quiet but just off the main shopping street. I wouldn’t book through Expedia again, complicated things and worried me. I booked for 2 adults and a child. Just felt a bit concerned re what my son would sleep on so tried to ring hotel and numbers on Expedia didn’t work! Eventually spoke to Expedia and they told me I only had accommodations for 2, despite my booking clearly read 3; no refund deal on the hotel! I eventually got through to the hotel when they emailed re the booking approaching, with a phone number attached. Incredibly helpful and said it’s often an issue when booking through a 3rd party. They gave me an apartment with bed area and sofa bed, it was perfect! Boiling hot, turned off the rads. Fridge, oven, toaster, hob, dw and wash machine. Washing up liquid, dishwasher pods and shower gel, toilet rolls and soap supplied. Salt, pepper, some coffee and sweetener sachets all Supplied plus towels, dish scrubby, bin bags and bedding. Beds were very comfy, and even the sofa bed, for one 😄 Water is a bit smelly but that is what the water in Iceland is like and you get used to it very quickly shower was great, a bit cooler to the end of our stay but still good. Only 4 free parking spaces at the accommodation but we often got one and parking around was reasonable, if you went P3 and not a big walk! Supermarkets within a few minutes walk. Restaurants are expensive and we really appreciated being able to cook 😄

We stayed in the 1 bed apt. Beautiful apartment with all amenities , well maintained . Very friendly and helfpul staff. Location cannot get better. 5 min walk to the main chruch and many bars restaurants.Also near all the bus stops and tour pick up spots

The location of the apartment was FABULOUS! (a little noisy on New Years Eve)(beautiful fireworks though). Centrally located, easy access to restaurants, cafes and shops. The hotel is directly across the street if you need help (we didn't realize that until the last day, as we were leaving...the gentlemen at the front desk were friendly and helpful storing our luggage for a couple of hours and arranging for a large taxi to get us to the airport. Wish we had realized they were there earlier in our trip! The room itself was amazing! The size, the cleanliness. The bathroom had black stones everywhere (floor and walls), was unique and really nice. The only problem we had was in the bathroom. First, there was a shower curtain rod, but no curtain (so water went all over). Second, the sink was TINY!!! (while washing up and brushing teeth, half of the water used was ending up on the floor). Third, the bathroom door was really difficult to open and close, especially when you were in the bathroom (we figured out we had to slide it open from the very far side when outside. Never found an easier way to open it while inside). And lastly, and the most significant and important...was the smell of sulfur...which spread into the room itself...The first night was the worst until we finally realized where it was coming from. We placed a towel over the drain in the shower and kept the door closed, at all times. I would definitely stay here again - just speak to someone about that smell !!!
