Charged me twice for my stay, tons of unexpected charges and one had one decent sever at the restaurant. Most wait staff was fairly rude, and I was very disappointed by the hidden charges. My stay was paid for before I arrived, and after I left they charged me again.

Maintenance team needs to keep an eye on damaged items in rooms such as the draperies. Our room had draperies that were broken off from the rod and hanging in a puddle behind the tv in our corner room #202. This made it impossible to close the blackout draperies and the light came in the window ruining sleep. Beside the fact that it just looked sloppy and unkempt which is not something I would think Marriott would be happy about in addition to the grout in the shower having areas of mildew. I do not believe this is a housekeeping issue but rather a management/ maintenance issue because there obviously isn’t anyone routinely checking rooms for damaged fixtures.

Nice hotel, not so nice service.
The hotel itself is beautiful, but my family and I will never stay here again. Check in was amazing!! The room was clean and comfy. However the bathtub did not drain properly, while taking a shower and you're standing in 2 to 3 inches of water. We went to the restaurant for breakfast and the server made us feel like we were bothering her and was not very nice. I wish I had the other lady who was bringing out the food because she had a smile on her face the whole time unfortunately I do not know her name. Lastly we waited about 15 minutes for someone to come to the desk to check us out. She did apologize for the wait and was very nice.

We used the stateview for an overnight stay. My son was participating in science Olympiad invitational at NCSU. The hotel was amazing, breakfast was pretty good and it was conveniently located from the college.

Comfortable Stay
We loved how the hotel was not on a main road. It was quiet and had ample parking just a few steps down. The lobby clerk was great and the ambiance was lovely. The room was spacious and the shower was great. The only downside was the blanket at the foot of the bed was not laundered (I could smell strong perfume on it and it had hair on it, not just one or two) and the commode leaned forward when you sat on it then slammed against the wall when you got up. We left in a rush so were unable to pass this along to the staff. Room 422. The view was wonderful and so were the amenities. I would stay there again, in a different room.
