Province of Munster Vacation Packages

Stayed at the Westwood for a week while attending a conference at the University of Galway. I've not complaints about the place or the staff. Indeed, I quite enjoyed my stay there and would certainly consider staying there again. This said, there are two things I wish I had known about before deciding to stay there: (1) Unless you have your own vehicle, you're largely dependent on bus 404 or taxi to get to/from the city centre (it's a good 50-60min walk each way); and (2) there's no food/drink options in the immediate vicinity by other than a Spar. This said, the food at Kelehan's Bar & Restaurant, which is about 1.5km further up the N59, is superb; as are the pints.

Lovely hotel. Great location and the rooftop restaurant was very nice. On the pricey side but with a Saturday night in the summer maybe to be expected!

We stopped off at the Talbot for the night before catching the early ferry home the following morning. We were greeted with a warm, friendly and helpful check in and given keys to our clean, modern rooms. The hotel has a nice sized pool with jacuzzi, sauna, and steam room that enabled us to enjoy some down time. We then enjoyed a drink in the nicely designed bar area, before a meal in the lovely restaurant.

Stayed for one night in the family room with my two children. The room was spacious, even with a double bed and two singles. The en suite was spotless. There were plenty of spare toilet rolls, as well as shower gel and handsoap. The room also had tea and coffee making facilities, a bottle of drinking water, and a lovely touch of a little selection of fudge sweets. There was a safe and hairdryer in the wardrobe. The beds were very comfortable and we slept well. It was lovely and quiet throughout the night. No disturbances at all. Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice: cereal, fruit yoghurt, homemade brown bread, porridge, local honey, as well as the cooked options of bacon, sausage, egg (any way you like), tomato, mushroom, beans and toast. The fresh coffee was delicious. The staff were excellent. On hand if you needed anything, but also left you to your own devices, which I appreciated. All in all, I would say hotel standard and I will definitely stay again.

This place was clean, quiet, and safe, and is in a pretty setting near/on estate lands. Very convenient from the highway for access to local tourist spots and Shannon Airport. The hotel is super large and sprawling. It seems to be very popular with young families. At our Expedia rate it was pretty basic in terms of amenities. We took a look at the breakfast, which wasn't included in our rate, and it also seemed basic, so we gave it a pass. Great local bakeries and other spots to choose from though, so that shouldn't stop you. Good value overall.
