"Great visit at a beautiful location. Just an FYI. Checking in on a weekend can be a little crazy because it is also a State Park that gets heavy day use. In addition, majority of the amenities like the pool have an additional fee through the state park and my room was in a cabin about 1/2 mile drive or walk to the main lodge. I would definitely stay again though. Food at 1915 was amazing."

"The lobby smells GREAT, especially by the elevators. This was my second time staying here. I asked the front desk to change a $20 bill so I could give a tip to the housekeeping staff, and they said they didn’t have change (nor did the restaurant)! I’ve never heard of that. I felt terrible to not give the housekeepers a tip (they deserve it and work hard). Bed is comfortable, pillows are great, shower is good too (and toilets have jet-flush)."

"Generally a Nice hotel with a great restaurant. Sound does travel between rooms and from the hallway which isn't a plus. Morning breakfast was very limited and coffee was bitter."

Holiday Inn Poughkeepsie by IHG

Holiday Inn Poughkeepsie by IHG

8/10 Good
"Room was clean and quiet, and beds were very comfortable. I'm going to need to start bringing a steps tool to get into the beds, though! Bathroom was adequate, a touch of mildew in the corners, but nothing really bad. The lobby was open, well lit, and staffed with friendly people. Rooms were easy to access, and remarkably soundproofed. The restaurant was a hoot -- literally just burgers and salads, with a few apps thrown in. Good enough, but would recommend finding a real restaurant for a meal. Breakfast was the buffet style, with powdered scrambled eggs, bacon, turkey sausage, breakfast potatoes as hot offerings. French toast was also labeled, but looked like regular toast. Cold offerings of yogurt, fruit salad, and cereals, along with a case of bagels and pastries offered some additional choices. Looked like they were doing the best they could with kind of minimal staff. It was a pleasant enough experience. I would come here again, if in the area."
