Portugal Cove - St. Philips Vacation Packages

This is a boutique hotel in an older building. There is a certain charm with the architecture and the high ceilings; however, with an older building there is poor sound-proofing (we heard every step the upstairs guests made). Our room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. The room needed a deep clean as there were dust-bunnies under the chairs and in the corners. The hard surface floors are great but were not very clean when we arrived. There was grit and fingernail clippings that did not belong to us. We walked around in our socks to keep the room clean but that also revealed how dirty the floors were. The location is great; right beside Jelly Bean row and within walking distance of downtown. The parking was as advertised but there are only 7 or 8 spaces on the street for non-residents, happily we always found a place to park each day. The check-in process was non-contact. We were given lots of information prior to check-in and an info pack on arrival. There was a guest directory provided with some information on local attractions and restaurant suggestions.

This hotel is our usual go to for trips across the island. We have noticed a bit of a decline in the cleanliness and maintenance of the property. Some floors smell of smoke, and the friendliness of the front desk staff has gone down. Still a good place to stay if visiting for a short time.

Property has a historical feel. We would stay there again

We stayed for a week at this property, the location is great, the room was really good, the free parking much appreciated and the onsite bistro is excellent, We had the included breakfast which was plenty to get you going in the morning, Our only complaints would be that they should get blackout blinds/curtains, the early morning light easily got past the curtains they have, I’m guessing the current housekeeping staff shortage can be fixed, we had our room cleaned every other day, this was fine except the room amenities didn’t always get replaced, (coffee, tea,shampoo etc) a query at the front desk and they quickly provided whatever we needed, Overall we had a great week!

We had a wonderful stay here! The restaurant on-site was absolutely delicious—definitely a highlight of our trip. Our room was also spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The only minor downsides were that we wished the property was dog-friendly, and it would have been great if the chairs in the room had footrests for a bit of extra comfort. That being said, the pros far outweighed the cons. We would absolutely recommend.
