"The welcome was amazing, the hotel is the home of the owner who makes a point of greeting his guests. It is a Victorian building of immense character in a stunning position on top of a headland and next to Tintagel Castle. The views are incredible. The room was spacious and comfortable with open sea views. The dining room is majestic and the saloon is comfortable victorian splender. Finally the staff were simply excellent. We had a wonderful experience! Highly recommended!"

"We checked in to the hotel and were taken to our room, the stairs up to the room were filthy with stains and marks all over. We arrived at our room and the member of staff read out the code for our room out loud in the corridor, so anyone that overheard could have had access to our room. We stayed for about 5 minutes before checking straight back out again, as the room was beyond filthy. There were bits of dirt all over the carpet, and the teaspoon that had been left on the side for us to use for tea/coffee had a dried coffee stain on it, so obviously hadn’t been changed over since the last guests. We booked the room because it was cheap and in a good location, and the reviews seemed good. However, the hotel is awful and I wouldn’t recommend anyone stays here the lack of cleanliness is beyond belief. Avoid this hotel and don’t be fooled by the positive reviews. "

"Great hotel and stay at the Port Gaverne Hotel Our room faced the sea and the bed was super comfy. Great facilities tea and coffee with fresh milk, and the dry robes were a lovely touch. We ate breakfast each morning of our 4 night stay and 2 evening meals Great food and drinks We were able to walk into Port Gaverne which only took around 10/15 minutes We would 100% return Great staff and very friendly "

"It was a little disappointing that there were no tissues in the room or bathroom. On Friday night we sat in the restaurant but on Saturday night we were put in the Tea Room which we felt there was a lack of atmosphere. All the staff were very friendly and helpful."

"Great location Great staff friendly & helpful Breakfast great The room let are stay down For what we paid the room needs a revamp paint above tv looks awful damp coming through paint all lifting , ceiling light missing glass cover needs replacing, tv old remote not very responsive to use , bathroom bit tired plug for bath not attached handles on the bath are terrible all loose ,"

"The accommodation was lovey it was spotless and had everything we needed , we had a three bedroom three bathroom barn. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restrauant was nice and the food we had was lovely."

"The reception staff are very friendly and helpful, especially Catarina. The spa area is a calming space with a large jacuzzi and beautiful views out to sea. The location of the hotel is great, set on the cliffs with stunning sea views. We signed up to do the complimentary Pilates session with Suzanne, which we both loved! We had a lovely breakfast and an evening meal at the Wild Cafe. The home baked artisan breakfast was a huge hit with us!"

"The guy who worked at reception was excellent. He was very friendly and helpful. We arrived late around 8pm. When we booked in there was no parking left to use. The guy at reception said no problem you can use my parking space around the back, he said there was room for us and guided us around. He then waited at the back door and let us in to save us walking around to the front of this large hotel. Excellent service from a great and friendly guy. The hotel itself is very tired and run down. Our room was clean so we were not that bothered by it. It was very cheap for the night so bear that in mind you get what you pay for. If you’re easy going like us you wont care. We enjoyed our stay which was made better by the efforts of the friendly guy at reception."
